My problem isn’t tactics or shooting, it’s 7 years of gameplay to reach 8.0 😂
I don’t have the free time these developers expect

War Thunder, in my opinion, would classify as a sim-lite.

I'll be completly honest, you're not really good at War Thunder x')
To deal with pesky 2S38 or other light vehicles you just need HE rounds (HEAT works too, to an extent), easy peasy. (and much like real life too)

Hull Down and using binocular is obviously great and very effective but sadly the game devs just either gives us city maps (which are kinda fun in my opinion but are much more of a fast pace slugfest than anything ahah) or maps with way too steep hills for hull down to work (so it effectively turns the game to a "know the spots", not very new player friendly).

Also use and abuse thermals in top tier, no reason not to use them 99% of the time.

Another tip (I think you used it on the first game but not the conclusion) : use rangefinder with commander sight (binoculars) if the tank has that available, that way you can pop out of hiding and shoot instantly.

If terrain allows you should always peek and reverse with some sort of left to right or right to left angle too, adds another dimension they need to worry about to aim.

I think the issue with trying to use many tactics in general in this game is 99 percent of players are dumb and just want kills. You can attempt a flank but you can't rely on your teammates to support you.

If the tank has a gun depression I always play it hull down.

The poking out from the same cover position over and over again has got to be the most common sin against proper combat tactics seen in War Thunder. *I’m not counting the headlong rush into capture points or suicidal charges by SPAA against multiple tanks. *

you should use these tactics in the same tank in simulator battles. im interested to see how you would do as you were once in a tank like this just wasnt a video game look at things

just started the video but it should work, in theory. i use vehicles a lot in battlefield and ill sometimes drive in columns or rows with other tanks, if the infantry’s smart enough they’ll get behind us. flanks and suppressive fire work really well too

@Panzerpaw were you a crewman before? Ive served the 12rbc as a crewman in 🇨🇦 and i love people with tank/armor knowledge .. more than just history or games

I just want to admit that the armour of Leopard 2 is also very realistic xd. that thing is soft as shit just like leopard 1. well, not just like leopard 1 because its actually stronger but still similar if you compare it with modern tanks

meanwhile me playing my T-72 knowing that all i can do is rush with 10 thousands of teamates cause otherwise i am dead anyway
