THATS NOT AN IPAD PRO SMARTY

My ipad keeps disconnecting from itunes but the system update/restore still goes on...do I keep it connected? When it disconnects, it goes back to the home screen saying "disabled for 5 min". (Also I wasn't able to do the updating part w/ itunes because I downloaded the latest version...does having an old version and then updating is necessary or can it be done w/o updating if you already have the latest one?)

Nothing happens. It let my "restore" then when it came to the second restore.....nothing on the iPad. It goes straight to the lock screen...
