ОтветитьIt’s not just it’s NEXA brethren that the Jimny needs to account for while pricing itself. It’s biggest fight will be with the Thar (now RWD as well as an incoming 5 door) as well as the made-more-acceptable Gurkha. These are its main lifestyle competition. Also in the mix, the more comfortable and driver focused if not off-roady VAG products. Developing a 5 door has required MSIL to invest heavily in the product. The pricing has to be razor’s edge to gain a foothold in this market. I’d venture a 10 - 12 lac ex showroom introductory price between variants, nicely taking the wind out of all the competition sails. They also have to factor for their volume customer - the Indian Forces contract. Once gained, they can mop up the initial subsidies by inching up the prices of their higher variants for the retail buyer. Failing to cash in on the initial euphoria and ending up with cancelled bookings will damage the brand irreparably and it may go the way of the underrated SCross.
