I remember watching this with my roommate. We were looking for a terrible action flick that we could laugh at and thought Doomsday fit the bill. We were really surprised when it turned out to be a pretty solid film.

It's not original but just watched doomsday and really enjoyed it. Resident evil meets mad max with escape from ny characters. Movie holds up better than most from that time. Dredd and doomsday probably most under rated movies from 2008-2012.

Was actually a solid film. Not perfect, but enjoyable. Seen it a couple of times. Considering the nonsense Hollywood puts out, this is a great watch.

Definitely one of the most ridiculous, hackneyed, and bigoted films I've ever seen.

Firstly, the Scottish wouldn't run out of food, they have loads of farms, they have loads of armed troops as well as the nuclear submarine programme. Disbelief needs suspending.

It's as if they're saying that if anyone gets cut off from London they descend into savagery.

So there is a girl, who was rescued and after 27 minutes of exposition there are loads of explosions, then exposition, explosion, rinse and repeat until the end, which is also stupid.

The entire film is derivative of other films from the 80s, I know this is the point, but there is a reason that these films were separate.

And by the way, a Bentley that has been left standing for 30 years wouldn't start as the battery would be run down.

It's a really confused film, it doesn't really have a plot, and certainly doesn't have an identity, the characters do not grow over the story, and there is no development. It is a total shame as the director and actors have good pedigree.

Yooooo. I didnt know the director of Doomsday was the director of The Descent. The Descent is one of my all time favorite movies, and I really loved Doomsday when it came out. But I never knew that lmao

The last above average film Neil Marshall made. It was all diminishing returns after this one...

The idea was great and the lead was terrific, a perfect blend of badassery and femininity. Apart from a few good scenes though the execution fell short. Especially the medieval stuff was silly and nonsensical, it sucked the plot dry of all believability. Once that horse showed up it was over for me. This film could've turned out a classic if only someone took the initial script from Neil Marshall's hands and handed it to a seasoned screenwriter for a rewrite.

I remember first watching it on sci-fi channel as a kid…now I’m watching it on Max as an adult 😅

Saw it for the first time today... I was really surprised how entertaining it was! I was like how did this fly over my radar?

I didn't quite understand the movie at first, I thought it was some zombie like movie.

The one plot hole that still bugs me is how the government didn’t realize there were survivors in Quarantine Scotland much sooner since they had satellites keeping watch.

But still, a fun movie that I keep going back to. I miss that old school era when originality was pushed.

I remember seeing this movie as a kid and beinh frightened, intrigued and some how understanding some of the actions taken in the movie. The scenes with the black guy in on the chain behaving like a rabid pitbull revealed so much to me. I couldn't even remember the name but that scene comes back to me from time to time and go and look up the title which is why I'm here now in 2024. Great movie

I watched it fully for the respect for the effort. But if I must be straight forward, it was the stupidest thing I ever watched

One of the more unbelievable thing in the film is epople resorting to cannibalism when there are like thousands of cows just roaming around (if i recall correctly, right across the wall).
