I’ve known people like Clarey and I’ve read his book. He’s got a very awkward view of the world and appears to hide his insecurities and bitterness behind a veil of confidence. In realty, you can almost taste his anger toward so much of the world, and I find myself pittying him. Reading his chapter on women was really stressful because it reveals that he has never had a true, caring, mutually supportive relationship. I’d imagine he’s lonely, and that makes me sad. Poor guy.
