Ответитьthe weird thing is... alot of these speakers sound like the very critiques (or critics) they were trying to escape from, within expression through graffiti. I find it sorta amusing lol. its a good film, respect to the OG's out der !
ОтветитьYo that truck taking off on merk was hilarious…. Shout out all my fff bbb fam!
ОтветитьUsed to love climbing on shit, just to be like" how the fuck did he get up there?" Plus the city wouldn't reach and paint over it.... nowadays I'm too heavy for that😁and the spots at my reach are risky with all the new technology and shit, yeah, we've slowed down big time, got my own kids now... alot to lose, back then, I didn't give two fucks and you would only get a slap on the wrist if we got busted!....I still keep it real tho😏 na' mean?from: LOST ANGELES ✌
ОтветитьBuen documental!
ОтветитьProps for preventing those kids on the stoop from snitching on themselves😂
ОтветитьBig up to the original AZ1 and to RYNO from the Bronx for AZ1 giving me my first piece and RYNO being the first to bomb my first black book. Decades later and the culture itself is obviously still intact, big ups to the young guns (from anywhere all over the world) who continue to keep it going. I just wish you all could have come up when it was all about bombing the NYC subways. That was a PURE rush and you guys would have felt right at home.

ОтветитьWe have Big Tech, Big Pharma, Big Oil and now we have Big Graffiti - a bunch of tossers from 'New York' who think their shit doesn't smell and the are superior to others. I have more respect for the guy who goes out alone.
Ответитьbro hear me out i do not give a fuck what any mf says in these comments

i see graffiti as a form of art fuck what people say it does not matter what they say it needs to change it does not matter if you just started or if you've been in it if someone says your shit your not shit your style and your progress is not determined by anyone but you if someone calls you toy and says you just started 5 months ago it will take years to learn the basics no just because they dont like the shit you put up does not mean its not good most people are mad is because the newbies coming in me included are making more progress than the ogs and they are upset about it and call you shit because in reality your better than them im not here to hate but shit needs to change im tired of people saying oh do an alphabet to get better do this to get better if you dont like what im doing because you have been doing it longer then dont say shit at all you can be honest and say its decent but i dont like that kind of style or some shit agree with me or not i do not care im speaking facts to all the starters out there.
edit: and for anyone with doubts take a look at some legends or some very good graffiti writers some have some simple ass beginner shit but they got it down so good thats its way more than simple it can have no style and look insane but we all know if someone with way less experience does the same thing lets say perfectly just because we are not the legend its toy or its shit it makes no sense what so ever do what you want write what you wont just dont break the rule of going over someone

ОтветитьWild doc
Ответить*** Great Doc. Much Respects.
ОтветитьAwesome! Thanks to all artists for sharing their thoughts!
ОтветитьKlops is a nazi. He's a bootlicker, not a real writer.
Ответить100 ... / Sweden!
ОтветитьTalk a lot but not saying anything
ОтветитьLol imagine being so full of yourself... I went to New York for 3 days and I dont remember seeing those crews Merk listed... though I did see the name merk once or twice
ОтветитьGatekeepers who uphold the 70s-90's as a special era are as toxic to the culture as those who come up with no respect for their local history. Graffiti is the oldest artform, the most respectable and the the one which will outlive us all. It's the purest form of art there is and it belongs to nobody. It will always evolve, and if all you care about is getting your name up for street rep, you are missing the whole point, and you will inevitably grow old and bitter and obsolete.
ОтветитьThere’s a lot of them toy ass writers in here that are only getting recognition by this vid
Ответитьclops is a racist bat sheet horsedung
ОтветитьIt is the most "high risk, low reward" hobby u can do. But when u get a prime spot on the freeway and realize atleast 10-20k people see ur work any given day, that right there is priceless.
Yea they may not know its u.
But u do. Plus the joy that comes to those few people who may actually enjoy seeing ur work. Or how the energy ur putting out there brings in writers from different parts of the city who u never see in ur deck of the woods. The shit is wat makes me love this shit.
Plus so many other reasons.....
“I’ve done it enough to know not to do it, not to do It as much as I should be doing it.”
Ответить" was in your back yard and u didnt even know it" right on my man ✌
Ответитьsocial media blah blah blah doing a doc for social media blah blah blah 😂there’s no rules to art.
ОтветитьThings are different now with all this social media, just makes it easy to get fame.
ОтветитьThis video makes me wanna cry sometimes.. its in my blood.. ill never stop, it makes me the most at peace. I literally got off hard drugs, so i could further focus on my graffiti.. seriously the main desire to break away from the other life. Graffiti is so much more satisfying
Ответить🔥
Ответитьstreet art is gayer than 4 dudes fuckin 5 dudes.
ОтветитьThe issue with mentorship is that mentors only fk with the ones that not just put in the work but have a natural understanding of style and feel to their work. Most graff writers I knew did fast tags and throwies but weren't really creative/artisit. Growing up in the late 80s, I had no YT, I didn't know anyone who was a legitimate writer, and I only had the walls in the streets to teach me. I personally thought that graff was a form of public self-expression in public spaces. As an artist, I want to help the community feel better and uplift them. It seems to me that the graffiti writers desire to destroy instead of making a positive statement in a dope kind of way. I would rather bring joy or a deep subject matter to help society question the status quo via an art piece. Instead of just visually destroying public spaces with wack tags or outlines. My generation till present will be heavily influenced by graffiti and street art, and it will naturally become a mainstream form. Hip-pop and graffiti go hand in hand, and both have heavily influenced the world.
ОтветитьOn sait tous que lorsque les medias,n ont plus rien a dire,il sorte les vieux dossiers.
