Nightdive has given Quake the Doom 64 treatment. Probably about time to update this video!
ОтветитьThe Saturn is very 3d capable. It's harder to program for, and while lobotomy did well for the time, people have figured out how to better optimize 3d on the system. Saturn's life was cut short, so we never got the full capabilities of the system back in it's day.
ОтветитьNot Quake 2 on N64. Curious.
ОтветитьNightdive and their KEX engine is Garbage, and their remasters are garbage, their engine is buggy as hell and does not feel like john carmacks IDTech at all, they ruined the original movement too, your better off using source ports such as IronWail, QuakeSpasm, QuakeSpasmSpiked or DirectQ if you have a very low end pc, and if you want graphics, use Darkplaces.
Also if you want to play Mods or custom community map paks, use a sourceport such as IronWail,QuakeSpasm or DirectQ for low end Pcs, theres nothing good about Nightdives Remasters, it was a deliberate cash grab to appease the ultra casuals and console Players, their Multiplayer is also garbage, its Peer2Peer, meaning you will allways lag, and have 150/200ping.
Now do the homebrews, PSP(proquake 4.71),Wii(QuakeGX), GameCube(QuakeGX),Mobile(QUake touch or QIA),PSVita,Xbox original(QuakeX),DS(QuakeDS),3DS(Quake CTR)
Ответитьcan't beat the ai in the 64 version
ОтветитьQuake 2 64?
Ответитьyou talk a lot of shit of the best console port on the n64.
ОтветитьThe Saturn really wasn't as awful at 3D graphics as you're making it out to be.
ОтветитьThe 64 is the better port it’s just a obvious fact
ОтветитьThe Sega Saturn did not struggle with 3D. You don't know wtf you are talking about. "Stay in your lane".
ОтветитьAnd now we've got 8-player splitscreen in the Quake 2 remaster!
ОтветитьQuake 2 got a remaster too 🎉
ОтветитьMy guy, you were ROASTING Saturn Quake.😂
ОтветитьWould love to seen a video on Hexen!
Ответитьquake 64 is better than pc it has cool lighting
ОтветитьThe more I see people use footage of NiGHTS and Burning Rangers to push the myth that "Saturn wasn't very good at 3D", the more I'm convinced that Yuji Naka's engine used for both of those games wasn't actually very good...
ОтветитьI have the Saturn version. It's an ugly mess, but it is playable and still fun. I play it on a modern tv but imagine it would look much better on a CRT.
ОтветитьWas the iso of ps1 quake 1 ever leaked? I heard it was nearly complete, I’m guessing no
ОтветитьI know this video is 5 years old so this might be a bit of out date but Exhumed is not a doom clone, it's one of the first examples of FPS metroidvania on its own legit 3D engine that merely in aesthetics resembles early Build and Doom engines but is anything but.
ОтветитьWhy would you not mention Quake 2 on the n64, but use the ps1 version? I know you said you'd mention it in another video. But I doesn't make much sense to leave the n64 port of quake 2 out just to praise the ps1 port of quake 2 lol.
ОтветитьThe 64 was a great alternative to pc at the time, with all the great shooters, if you had a fairly crappy pc set up for most of the 90s, these console ports were great for those who needed them.
ОтветитьDude you forgot the best port, the Zeebo one.
Ответитьthe ps1 looks like a messed up version of doom 3 lol
ОтветитьI played the n64 Version is great but the remastered is the best
ОтветитьTurok Is pretty good tho 1 and 2
ОтветитьI play Quake II on my PSone with the LCD, the mouse, and a one-handed Grip controller with a single analog stick. And a PocketStation to save
ОтветитьQuake .64 is the best I don’t care about your whiny ass bullshit.
ОтветитьSaturn seems to have better graphics than Nintendo 64 and PlayStation for some reason I'm going to have to get me a Sega Saturn again soon and this time keep it. 🚨😎☢️
ОтветитьWoah, wait. id did Wolfenstein, Doom and Quake? As in, one company did all three?! As someone who usually stays away from the FPS side of gaming, that's insane to learn. I always thought those were three competing devs trying to outdo each other. NOT one group of maniacs perfecting a formula
ОтветитьA Quake 2 port came on a bonus disk that came with Quake 4 for the Xbox 360.
ОтветитьServe the beast 💪

ОтветитьNintendrones keep hating on Superior Saturn Hardware... The cope is real.
Still crying because Nintendidn't give you a CD Drive?
Dude you rock 🔥
ОтветитьYou forgot the quake 4 and 2 version on xbox 360
Ответить4 years later and still no quake 2/3 follow up video.
ОтветитьI've only ever played the saturn port until the most recent next gen ports.
ОтветитьI feel like I just went through a Mandela effect when I found out there was no Quake 1 on PS1
ОтветитьThe Saturn is well capable of 3D. It's just the 3D done to the Saturn was rushed or not well optimized before devs would do the console justice.
ОтветитьAmiga had a port of quake as well from clickboom witch is a official port of quake
ОтветитьPlayed QII with the PS1 mouse it was the best xperience ever !!
ОтветитьUseless fact: Saturn can't run Quake engine because the system is better at using 3D sprites instead of polygons. Saturn just can't do polygons.
