Good score on the grapefruit. I am going to try to only buy things on sale. You did really good with the $39 order. I have been eating out of the fridge and didn't go shopping.
ОтветитьThank you. You are very interesting to view and learn new recipes from.
We are seniors 71 and 80.
Our children are in 30's and 40's. An elderly neighbor told us decades ago, you know when you are old when your children are on Social Security. We aren't old😊
I love your channel. Can relate so much to your thinking processes! 😁 And Lordy Lordy- I tried the Chex mix idea this year- was not a hit- so yes, now what! Ugh. Thinking maybe birds will eat?? 🫤🤷🏻♀️ Thanks for all your loving labors and great ideas!
ОтветитьOh gosh, I made so much party mix in the months of November and December. It was the savory crunchy snack that I wanted each week. As soon as a batch was made it was gone. We made two batches of puppy chow too which was really good with a couple handfuls of pretzels added in at the end. One thing I have learned is that I don’t have to strictly stick with the ratios of “stuff” in the party mix recipe. I use the stuff I have and when I run out of one thing then I omit it and use more of what I do have. It is expensive to buy all the different cereals and pretzels and cheese crackers and peanuts if you only make one batch.
ОтветитьI have those reusable cloth bags in my freezer with like things together. Then I drew a map to where things are. So if I want chicken, I know it's on the far left two bags down. This has been a game changer for me. Now I just need to inventory those bags.
ОтветитьI get about a month on keeping lettuce by washing the lettuce really well, put it in a mason jar, fill with cool water. Put a lid on it & put in refrigerator. When I used it is very crisp. Another way that does well is wrap the lettuce tightly in aluminum foil. It keeps crisp no brown spots until I use it all. ❤
ОтветитьJust found your channel through the challenge. I’m doing low spend as well.
ОтветитьWe absolutely love making puppy chow, Chex mix. We do seasonal puppy chow with chocolate in it maybe mini marshmallows stuff like that you can also make like rice crispy treats with them but with Chex mix I feel like we’ve always done a pantry challenge. Just never really knew what to call it, but we are sticking to the pantry challenge and I’m allowing myself $25 a week for milk, bread and coffee creamer. Definitely love getting creative in the kitchen with what we have. We keep a very large stocked pantry so it’s quite easy by finding challenges without sour cream or branch dressing or something like that has been a little more of a challenge.
ОтветитьGreat job 😊 may you stay creative and inspired the rest of the challenge! Thank you for sharing such wonder ideas
