I got extremely lucky in a break last night! Traded a Topps Gretzky PSA5 for a bunch of spots (like just less than half) in a "lottery" for each Bedard card. Got top spot after randoms and picked the Team Logos Jumbo auto 21/25! And I ended up winning 11 out of 20 assorted hobby boxes in the same random!

This is my "traded a paperclip to a house, well, car" story.

I acquired the Gretzky RC in a 5000ct box of 70s vintage I found on Craigslist. Most cards were ate up, but I saw that there were at least a few 100 from Gretzky's rookie year. I offered $20, dude accepted. Literally like the third to last card I sorted through haha! Submitted to PSA through LCS 314, got upcharged, got a 5. So I'm literally into this card for like $220. That traded to an eventual (lucky!) 11 hobby boxes at an avg price of $110 and a Bedsie rookie auto /25!!!!

I bought one blaster of 2023-24 S1 and have not bought another product since. Good chance I won't buy again next year. Bedardmania and the nonsense prices have pretty much ended my interest in the hobby.

The crazy thing is the Fantilli is a very very nice pull and it doesn’t even pay for half the box!!

So for a thousand bucks you got what ? $200 if your lucky?? Wow great job UD you are why I quit collecting. Cards now a days is such a joke.

Not sure what to think anymore. $400 for a hobby box of UD and $500 for this. While we all want our cards to be worth a lot. I’d be willing to sacrifice a bit of value for decently priced products again.

There's just no reason to open wax at current prices. Buy singles and get what you want. Much better bang for your buck and you don't end up with boxes of junk you don't know what to do with.
