Having been in this situation last year, we were living in a b & b for 6 weeks. Then temp accommodation for 6 weeks. Many people asked how we coped, tbh, my children kept me going, & also knowing there's people worse off than us, people in war zones, fleeing for their lives.
We were always grateful to the council for helping us, & now we live in a council flat. Again, really grateful to the council

The landlord should have planned better and give his tenant a 6 month notice or something similar. Even better, help her look for a place. But no, let's all be a**holes to each other.

Some people blaming migrants for lack of housing and other issues, while the UK is one of the countries with the highest number of millionaires. I understand people have concerns, but why don't we working class people start helping each other out and stop licking the boots of the rich?

This is happening across the entire United States.. greedy landlords sell property then they go back in fix the property back up ..and then rent the property back out for thousands of dollars.. greedy corporations are also buy the first thing they do is Jack up the lot rent so high you can't afford it.. you either move your trailer or sell it.. the average rent is so expensive nobody can't afford it.. unless you are a rich ass Elite person that's the whole idea.. you think the homeless situation as bad now it will get worse.. you will see more handicapped people homeless you will see more elderly people homeless.. unfortunately once you become homeless if you do not hide yourself you will come up missing permanently.. thousands of homeless people are coming up missing right now as I speak.. never to be seen again.. I want to slap people awake

All these kids at the taxpayers expense, where are the fathers?

My Cousin almost was homeless 2 weeks ago but he did it to himself. He never learned financial responsibility, he never paid his bills on time or money he borrowed. The Bailiff almost came buy to kick him out and throw his stuff out. I helped him on a wing and a prayer and he was so grateful. He learned his lesson big time bad. The Landlord/Landlady was very patient with him but now he knows how to be more responsbile.

Problem, not enough places/houses for people to live in, couldn't possibly be owt to do with continued immigration could it, like 100s per day crossing the channel, from a safe country, in order to live in this one?, anyone feel a bit hurtid by that truth?.

Maybe just me but why does it seem like they are blaming the landlord at the beginning. They decided to sell as does every single landlord for their own property. Its unfortunate that they are hard up and have no place to go but it’s not the landlords fault for that

Given all the challenges of the past and current economies, why does the Royal Family think it's entitled to British tax payer support? Sell some of your massive land holdings! This happened to us here in Pennsylvania USA. We lived in our house for 10 years (current on rent) before our landlord sold it to a refining company. They just tore it down. It was sad. But we found a house and bought it and have been here 5 years now

Whats wrong with you people? Talking about babies, and fathers and never letting your kids become homeless. This isnt the fault of people having kids, this is the governments fault for letting the housing system rot.

Landlords are money grabbing bastards. How many have kicked tenants out to take the dirty money from Serco to house migrants.

This is the dark side of private housing. Because of this i wouldn't even touch private housing ever!

They don't worry much about finding another rental for example in another city where it's cheaper... And thats because they want the council to find an accommodation. They should kick them in the streets. They make no effort.

It's a recipe, and the main ingredient is RENT.
Add in single parent, and what do you have.

I have an idea i'm a labour douchebag lets leave our own people homeless without hope but at the same time welcome immigrants and feed them clothe them supply them with phones and laptops even though they have never paid a single penny in taxes here ...... i think you get the drift

Why are the owners selling their homes causing families to be displaced. Does England have subsidized housing like the U.S where the rents go by your income ? Affordable housing? We have so many on the streets here in the U.S. some because of drug addiction which has been on the rise. Ever since Covid seems like things have gotten worse and rents are so high, most cant afford or have to work 2 jobs to pay rent. Times are bad everywhere. So sorry for all. Things have to change, this is so sad for families

I'm surprised she threw her furniture when there are families out there that would love that!!

This poor family is homeless and some people have audacity to comment on furniture being donated give your head a shake they are in crisis mode just trying to survive figure out next steps be kind and try to understand things from the point of view of this family they some of many in the same strugle not right

The sooner UK council's become bankrupt the better as well as the UK government and leave people to fend for themselves all benefits should be stopped people should be left to their own devices. People survive in other countries without benefits what can you not do it here?

Where's the gratitude?!? When you have no money, no education, no options, in some cases no jobs, what are you expecting??? A travel cot in a tiny room, for my child and I, I would be on my knees, thanking God I was not on the street.

I can only imagine now.. its even worse 😢
