you see the best part that has most horror is when harker going to the castle and the first hours in it that the count traping him, putting a web,a shadow over him.this part is the best part of the movie and also when dracula travels and dooms the ship.this movie and herzogs nosferatu i liked the same thing, wich i see,its obvious herzog took inspiration in some parts by this movie that came 2 years earlier.its like both movies have strong elements and both are great for reasons...in fact i like almost every dracula movie, its my obsession but some of them like those two are gems and later copolas dracula...but herzogs andd this here are deep inside my heart...its so poetic!

the only fault here is that when the van helsing sees that a beast is the reason for lucy to be sick and they just put garlic on doors and left her alone that doesnt make sense,so then the mother of lucy s got heart attack and died and then lucy the next day she is dying cause they left her alone, but anyway she was already a vampire with fags.but its a movie and you can say they wherent sure and they thought this garlic will help and the vampire to not enter the room.wich later at copolas dracula they fixed that mistake and stayed with her at night the one of the two awake to guard the girl but he fell asleep by draculas powers so the vampire entered.but it doesnt matter those mistakes cause its a poetic movie,an expressionism that everything is like a dream, like a nightmare...cool movies,i love them too much, watched them many times.this here ,herzogs and copolas but also other movies of dracula too...bram stokers dracula book its mabe the book that was the reason of so many movies, mabe its the only book that made so many movies with dracula and general vampire movies,so many movies, its crazy how dracula shaped horror cinema and how strong this novel is...cause most people are in love of such movies, touched so many people with the creepy vampire...

I am sure, being a seasoned 66yo, with a undergraduate in Theatrics, that this is the best depiction of Bram's book.

Pseudo Feminism is the cancer of the society and only promoting women and insulting men is a kind of Pseudo Feminism that everyone should keep in their mind.

Louis Jourdan was a great actor. His real name is Louis Robert Gendre but he took the name Louis Jourdan as a stage name - Jourdan being the maiden name of his mother.

The best Dracula movie ever is simply titled Dracula and stars Frank Langella, Kate Nelligan, Laurence Olivier and Donald Pleasance. It was released in 1979. In the original novel, Lucy and Mina are not sisters.

If this was made for tv, it shows how much more effective tv movies can be. They are way more realistic and with such a story, it makes everything a thousand times more eerie. Louis Jordan is PERFECT. And it’s a delight to see Judy Bowker here. Magnificent film, thank you so much for uploading it!

As a 14 year-old from Whitby I watched them film the scene at the abbey when Nina is sleep
walking and Dracula sucks her blood over a gravestone. i'llalways remember How Louis Jordan
kept a poker face between shoots.

This really is the best adaptation of the book that has yet to be made. The casting of Louis Jourdan was was an inspired choice. There is no denying the menace of the beloved Christopher Lee, but he didn’t have what Jourdan had. His performance is so impressive!!!

THANK YOU. I HAVE WAITED SOOO LONG FOR A FILM THAT WAS TRUE TO BRAM STOKER'S NOVEL.
THAT NOVEL STILL STANDS OUT AMONG ALL THE DRACULA FILMS. THE NARRATION-STYLE THROUGH DATES IN THE BOOK WAS SUCH AN ORGINIAL AND EFFECTIVE IDEA. THE END EFFECT IS TERRIFYING.
LOTS OF LOVE FROM INDIA.

And how in any way, shape or form is Renfield important to this story?
Why is he included in the plot at all?

An excellent Frank Finlay as Van Helsing. He does service to Bram Stoker's character: a wise, fatherly, kind man leading the others. Hopkins is a great actor but seeing him as a looney in Coppola's Dracula was disturbing
