im so confused at the programming part......what "new key"? there is NO new key right? only a new key fob?
Ответитьhad a hard hard hard time getting the old key into the new key fob "port"...had to kinda hammer it in, and messed up the top of the key a little bit..........i dont have a belt sander either like you to shave the key part....suggestions?
ОтветитьTHANK YOU 💗
Ответитьif im just moving the existing key to the new fob, how would i program it considering itll be the same key???
ОтветитьThanks! Worked perfectly, no sanding. Our issue was broken case but same solution.
ОтветитьHad a new fob ordered on Amazon...about 12.00...took it to our local hardware store, and they laser cut the key, programmed it, all for 21.00...not all hardware stores though, have the machine to do this.....took him 10 minutes to do this...
ОтветитьThank you for this video. This seems a whole lot easier than taking it apart
ОтветитьYou did this so fast and simple.that’s excellent 👍
ОтветитьWhat is that metal tool that you're using to push it out?
ОтветитьI don't know if you will see this , but what do you do if the actual key part is broken off a little bit? How can a new key be cut without the entire key?
ОтветитьOnly this is I am getting this message: Service Theft
Deterrent
System
Thank you so much!! I didn't have this exact problem, but your video did help me with the problem I was having. I would like to add a tip.... if you transferred the the inside components from the old to the new, you could skip the reprogramming process 👍🏽..... Then, 🤷🏾♀️ one less key that could operate.... Regardless though, if you have received ANY sarcastic comments, here's some motivation: There are so many people that benefit from this type of information, whether it's long or short. One video can bring to light something that others didn't. I appreciate ANYONE that takes their time out to show someone else how to do something, because you didn't have to 🤷🏾♀️
ОтветитьThank-you. My wife's key fob wasn't working because the buttons broke. I used the information in your video and put a new fob on the old key. It works fine now. I checked the price for getting it replaced professionally. You just saved me around 300 bucks. Thanks.
ОтветитьI bought generic key fobs I have a working key but, but came with no working key fob Can I put the working key in the new fob and program it that way with out having the blank keys cut?
ОтветитьHaving an issue with the cars anti theft deterrent system. It won't get passed that. I knew it couldn't be just this easy. Onto the search now for that answer
ОтветитьInteresting
ОтветитьOut of all of the videos I watched, this was straight forward and most helpful! Thank you!
ОтветитьWorked well - thanks!
ОтветитьHow do you program a chevy cruze hatchback that have a button instead of a key to insert to start the car?
ОтветитьThank you for this video. Saved me $300. I used a small file to trim the key down and it worked like a charm.
ОтветитьEasy way to code these is to turn the master key in the ignition to on “not start” with the pin out of both the master and the new fob. Turn the Ignition off after 3 seconds, remove the master fob with the unpinned key still in the ignition. Place the new fob on the key that is still in the ignition and turn the ignition on. After 10 seconds give or so fire it up, if it starts. You did it properly and you can now remove both the key and new fob and pin the new fob. Keep the original fob in case you need to do it in the future.
ОтветитьThis video is amazing! I did try to do this myself, but the new FOB didn't have a roll pin, and I couldn't get the 'blank' key off the metal rotating part. There was no pin to push out, and it woudln't come off. Did I buy the wrong FOB? It said it was compatible with my car.
Ответитьcan this only work if you have a spare key? i bought a used car and it only came with one key.
edit: nevermind i found a comment that kind of answered my question.
This is absolutely genius.. Thank you
ОтветитьThank you so much , this was so easy to fix. Everything went just like you said. I did order from Walmart because they were Chevy's fobs 2 for 27.99. I am a 79 year old women and had no problem fixing my key fobs. You make it so simple. Thanks again.
ОтветитьVery helpful! Thank you!
ОтветитьHi I tried to program my new fob how you said and I get a light on the dash picture of car with lock on it. Any advice? I tried it a few times and will not work. I have 2010 Chevy Equinox
ОтветитьSo lI might add the buttons on the new fob work just can't start the car, help please
ОтветитьWas wondering about the roll pin, because my roll pin won’t get out of the key fob I bought
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video! My first key broke years ago, then last week my spare key broke... dealer wanted to charge me $400.00 plus per key fob. With your step by step video I was able to purchase two key fobs for $26.99 from Amazon and reprogram them. Thank you ! Thank you!
ОтветитьWhat if you want to have the keys in the new FOBS cut. Who will cut them and any idea on the cost?
ОтветитьThanks for this. Was about to give the dealer man a binch of money.
ОтветитьHeard you cant program like this with 2017 or newer? That you need a dealer code?
ОтветитьGreat video thanks
ОтветитьThis helped so much !!! I was able to do it and save so much money
ОтветитьYou saved me so much money! Thank you! Other than the metal key swap, this was so freaking easy! 👍💜👍
ОтветитьThanks!! You saved me hundreds of dollars, turned my 2 half working keys into 2 (almost) brand new keys!
ОтветитьI just got a used 2017 cruze and it came with one key. it starts the car and everything but the buttons on the key do not work like the lock/ unlock buttons. I changed the battery and it still didnt work. Is there a possibility that the buttons or something arent programmed, or are the buttons supposed to work no matter what if the key starts the car?
ОтветитьThe aftermarket aren't the same. you might be able to take the blade out and swap it tho.
ОтветитьThank you for the video.!
I looked at several videos on how to replace/repair Chevy Cruze key fobs. My car is a 2015. The push buttons on the old fob wore out and one broke off. I ordered 2 replacement 5 button Fobs off Amazon that looked just like my Chevy originals. In some other videos I watched, people were taking the Fobs apart and replacing the circuit boards and keys. Not necessary.
As you did in this video, I used a pointed driver on the broken fob to start to push the roll pin out a bit. Then to get the roll pin the rest of the way out, I used a small 1" finishing nail and gently tapped it out. Now I had the old key ready to go in to the new replacement Fob.
Next , do the same with the new FOB to remove the blank key. I put my old Fob's key into the new Fobs key slot without any modifications required. I reinstalled the roll pin to hold the key.
To program my new Fob, I just started the car first with my other "second" old FOB. Took that key out and immediately started the car with the replacement FOB containing the new transferred key and the new Fob was then programmed. All 5 buttons on the new fob worked.
Later, I did the same exercise again as my other second "original" Fob was also showing signs of the push buttons breaking too. Thanks!
I just paid 150 from a hardware store they even programmed it for me!
ОтветитьCheap key i bought from Amazon could not be programmed .dont waste ur money go to dealer or hardware store that can do it!
ОтветитьI deleted my mystery key!!
ОтветитьMine says service theft deterrent system
ОтветитьWhere did you get the working key? Because the working key was changed or replaced with the new remote? Where did you get the other (working key)
ОтветитьTHANKS A LOT MY FRIEND!!! YOU'VE SAVED MY LIFE!!! Many blessings your way🙏
ОтветитьTHIS WORKS! Spent $26 on two new fobs, had batteries plus key them and saved $400
ОтветитьWorked like charm think you sir for sharing !
ОтветитьThanks for this video! I couldn’t open my key fob to swap the casings but this worked so easily!
