@FlyToTheWesternSky the same thing happened when i saw it, people cheered so much for this scene that the stage was set for the next scene and people were still standing and clapping. People also cheered when Stephanie said, "no good deed goes unpunished" in "Shine Like The Sun" (all the wicked fans in the audience lol) and "Get Out and Stay Out" got a standing ovation.

"I am a Woman! WOMYN!" "That's not how you spell it!!!" lmao. 'I'll get that gun of mine! I'll turn you into a roster from a hen in one shot!! " That must have felt good... :)

I actually don't think the acting in this musical was that great in general. It might just be because my high school is doing it and the acting has been phenomenal. I realize all the things the Broadway show could have done better.

And the movie

They probably changed the line because "Banging the Boss" sounds stronger & more angry. It's alliteration. The 2 "B" sounds make the line more bombastic.

WOW Megan nailed Dolly Parton's character, Doralee had a nice husband and she was from Texas. I loved Megan in this musical and she was also in wicked.

Waaaait a minute. She just threatened to blow his man parts off with her gun? That's what she meant by turn you from a rooster from a hen with one shot? I've known this movie all my life, even watched it with my mom as a kid, and now I'm 26 and I just now got it.

My school did 9-5 for our spring play this year and our Doralees absolutely KILLED this scene! I have yet to see it done badly

For those who wonder what she meant by spelling Woman with a Y instead of A, it means she is deliberately avoiding 'man' included in the word.
