I reject and abhor the teachings of Bethel church and the teachings of Kenneth (gimme your money) Copeland but I think Cessationism is "throwing the baby out with the dirty bathwater". The Holy Spirit can and does speak to people today and speaks through them but those words do not carry the same authority as the Scriptures, they are often quite specific and should align in their specificity with the general truths of Scripture. I would refer people to Wayne Grudem's discussion on this in his Systematic Theology. The fact that there are false prophecies and false words of knowledge and even false miracles today highlights Satan's attempt to create a counterfeit through organisations like Bethel "church" to entirely discredit the genuine gifts of the Holy Spirit.
