As a Filipino, it’s funny and silly to realize that most foreigners in the comment section took her question seriously and misunderstood what’s happening in this video. It just goes to show how naive some people can be about Filipino culture lol 😅 In the Philippines, we have this thing called hugot which is what they’re both doing in this video. The guy initiated the hugot (flirty&fun teasing) which obviously caught her off guard but she was quick to return the hugot when she said can I go with you? (Context: He said can I give you a ticket so she jokingly responded with “Yes, Can I go with you?”)
We usually do hugot (flirty/romantic/sometimes cringe-worthy catchphrases) for fun. Y’all are misunderstanding her for something else when she’s obviously just having fun and enjoying life lmao You can tell that she’s friendly and competitive 😂 Also, When we do hugot like this, it doesn’t necessarily mean that we are interested with the person. It’s one of our pastimes to have fun (it makes the other person cringe or feel silly but in a good way so you’re guaranteed to laugh/smile)
I can’t count the number of times I was misunderstood by foreign people for this harmless fun lmao
