Nintendo Switch Pro Controller - Should you buy one?

Please somebody clarify this to me, the pro controller have deadzone unlike ps5 and Xbox controllers?

The official Switch Pro controller, imo, is one of the worst Nintendo controllers period. Why? It's high input lag(12ms more than the Joy-cons...) is unneceptable for most genres, it's boasting a boring/vanilla XBOX360 clone design which is so unlike Nintendo since they've been creating unique, colourful and innovative controllers for decades. It's HD Rumble feels diluted and muffled(probably due to being housed in thick plastic) Vs the detached joy-cons. With the Pro, it's harder to feel or catch those HD Rumble subtleties and definition. Plus, it's Gyro motion has no reference. Aka, no sensor bar. So you'll find yourself loosing cross hair accuracy and having to constantly press a realignment button, depending on the game.

Hysterical. Can't wrap my head around why the pro controller is so highly praised. it's as bland and boring as it gets. it IS super comfortable, fits like a glove and the buttons feel mostly solid I'll give it that.

Every time I pick up my pro controller, I appreciate just how split it feels, it’s really impressive, blows ps5/4 Xbone/series x controllers out the water

I have mine being delivered today, I just got the Switch (Oct 2023) and I instantly hated the controller, both just the joycons and also having them hooked into the bar. No grip and slippy as hell, plus small buttons designed more for children than adults, despite their marketing. I was never a brand snob, but if you are going to buy any console, always better to get official licensed products, just so that you can have the logo on the box.

I’m thinking about getting one purely for games that require more accuracy such as FPS and or games that require aiming in general because I found the joy con analog sticks even with sensitivity adjusted don’t move as smooth as they should and want to know if it’s a meaningful improvement in that sense.

I have both the Elite Series 2 and I just got the Switch Pro Controller. The only thing that I don't like from the Elite that I love from the Pro controller is the texture of the XABY keys. They are soft to the touch which may be helpful for longer sessions. My fingers ache when I play for too many hours with the Elite.

I will buy it for ergonomy and analogs, because joycons are good for travel, but if you want some competitive gameplay then ergonomy comes in place

It is pricey but it’s a must have if you’re going to be playing for extended periods. I love mine and it’s adds so much enjoyment to the switch

Which LG monitor you are using? Switch games looks great on that. When I connect my Switch to my Samsung monitor, the image is horrible, probably because the monitor does not have any internal upscaling features.

What I hate most is the button layout for A , B , X , Y ......I mean companies all over the world agree on standards, and Nintendo has to be the odd duck in the pond. I still can't get used to this whenever I play Switch, I try not to rememeber the nintendo layout because I want it to feel natural when I play with my Xbox controller....

PS4, PS 5, Xbox controllers are all compatible with Nintendo switches, so for the price of a switch pro controller you could just get a better PS 4 or 5 or Xbox controllers. I didn't think it was worth the price, so I got myself a third party controller called the Laser Tri mode, it's like 20 bucks and it does the job.

The joy cons in a charge grip is perfectly fine. I waited to buy one of these (used mind you) until now cause they are so overpriced😂 this thing is not a necessity at all
