I'm sure Charlie Vickers fangirls are eating up this emotional Suaron nonsense and nothing wrong with mans talent and acting, both actors are amazing, but in terms of Lord of the Rings.. this is complete and utter crap nonsense and this is NOT Sauron. it's badly written fanfic and ridicule

No matter how hard Sauron tried, he was always a servant himself. Lets be honest, his followers only chose him as their dark lord because Morgoth was gone.

Despite everything that can be said about RoP, the acting here was superb, and the line, “Your only craft is treachery, so masterful it will betray the hand the forges it”, is genuinely a great line.

You can say many bad things about this show, but this scene was most perfectly Tolkien-esque scene so far in this show.

I think the reason Sauron cried during this scene at the words of being told he was a prisoner to the rings is because in that moment he realized the spirit that was speaking through Celebrimbor was Eru. Or at least a "holy spirit" and that Celebrimbor's dying words, while superficially from Celebrimbor, were truly coming from a spirit far greater and with more understanding of truth than Celebrimbor and Sauron.

There's a sense of dissapointment and sulleness in his tone, as if he were a father speaking to a lost son who has set about a dark path and not only pities his son's fate but also weeps for the suffering he inflicts on himself and others. A father who knows the end of the path their son has chosen is a true death, a hell of their own device.


I don't think they intended this in the writing, but it's just my interpretation.

Honestly Edwards's delivery of his lines in this scene, as well as in the breaking of Sauron's illusion is so perfect. The way he whispers "I foresee..." and slightly shifts his posture, it's the small details in his acting that made me love him since his first appearance.

I just love the second season. It was always terrible for me that Sauron was portrayed as the pure evil in the movies. Now I finally got what I wanted to see. I love Charlie Vickers for playing Sauron in this great role and portraying a brighter and emotional version of Sauron especially because he is a Maia who was created by the light (Erú Illuvatar) and stood for order in the beginning. Eternal thanks to Charlie and Charles! ❤

It’s a shame, some narrow minded people will never get to enjoy this masterpiece. Season 2 has been a blessing.
