Abu Abdullah al-Imam Ja’far Bin Muhammad al-Sadiq may peace be upon him said: “God (Allah) goes back to the concept of God (Ilah) and God (Ilah) indicates something about which one is confused (ma’luh) and the name is not the one named by it, so he who worshipped the name instead of the meaning behind it has already become a disbeliever and has in reality not worshipped anything and he who worshipped the name and the meaning behind it has already become a disbeliever and has worshipped two things, and he who worshipped the meaning behind it instead of the name, so that is the monotheism!” (Book: al-Kafi al-sharif volume 1 page 87, chapter: the worshipped one, narration 2)
