that area of tennessee is beautiful,...and peaceful, ...now. ive visited a time or two and liked the park, battlefield etc....
sherman and grant made a helluva 1-2 combo for the north, i guess their version of lee and jackson,....
i had a relative from floyd co in indiana that fought there and at corinth......i also had a relative who fought with the grays,....mississippi sharpshooters....
both survived the war.....

Little known fact. Most Union soldiers didn't fight to free the slaves. Their motivation was saving the Union.

Why is it that the descriptions of any union soldier and officers were negative?

Despite lying grievously wounded among the enemy for several days, William Harvey Lamb Wallace survived to meet his wife again.
After a few days it was clear he would not survive his wounds. One day while caring for him, he regained his senses and whispered to her,
"We meet in Heaven."
Ann Dickey-Wallace recorded in her journal, " 'Heaven' was the last word on those beloved lips."

It’s commonly accepted today Grants delaying maneuver had already saved Pittsburgh Landing regardless of another confederate charge or not… If it was anyone but Grant & Sherman the union army is likely destroyed.

Shiloh proved the war would be long and bloody. While Shiloh was fought in the East the Peninsula Campaign was underway and brought forward a nimber of battles ending at Fredeticksburg

these generals could have ended his way before its time by paying attention to their field people reports so with this i say those that gave their reports were the main people in this war they are the ones that should have been given medals of honor if those in charge would have listened to their reports pittsburg landing would not have taken place

Stop using the "unknown" angle on these historical videos. There's plenty info on this battle and many others.

These Civil War Battles must be remembered by Everyone! SO WHY DO WE ALLOW THE HATEFUL DEMOCRATS TO REMOVE THE HISTORIC STATUES OF THE PAST THAT ARE DEDICATED TO CONFEDERATE HEROES??? THEY ARE STILL AMERICANS!! PUT THE HISTORIC STATUES BACK! REMEMBER THEIR SACRIFICE AND DEEDS AND STOP TRYING TO REWRITE THE TRUTH WITH LIES. KEEP HISTORY HONEST AND NO HATEFUL POLITICS. RESTORE AND PROTECT THE STATUES AND RESTORE ORIGINAL NAMES TO MILITARY BASES. HATE IS WHAT. BIDEN AND DEMOCRATS PREACH WITH THEIR ANTI-AMERICAN LIES! STOP THE INVASION BIDEN CREATED.

Sherman to Grant: "Well, we have had the devil's own day haven't we."
Grant to Sherman: "Yes, but we'll lick em tomorrow".
And they did.

I vividly recall President Lincoln saying he needed Grant because he fights and it's a rumor Sherman made Georgie holla considering they are one of the main reasons the union won the war thay could not have made that many mistakes 🤔

Both armies fought like amateurs, because they were. The respective performance of the two commanders really made the difference in the end. Grant won the battle. It might be that Grant was the only Union General, at that time, who could’ve won that battle!

Such propaganda. When will you talk about the Battle of Schrute Farms? The bloodiest battle per capita and the Northern most battle even fought, yet its covered up by the Civil War History racket.

Savannah is where I grew up and in '03-'05, we were back there living on the old farm place and i got to help out and give tours at the Cherry Mansion. Mrs. Cherry was a Southern sympathizer and I found it humorous to share how she would have the servants go up under the dining room where Grant took his meals with other officers and eavesdrop on their conversations. She would then relay this intel to her brothers who were in Johnston's army at Corinth, ha! That old mansion still has blood on the floor upstairs where the town bully was shot and killed by a little guy who he bullied one time too many at a church social of all times.

My great grandfather was at Shiloh but fortunately his unit, the 65th Ohio Infantry was part of Buell's army arriving on the 2nd day so they saw little action with only an handful of casualties. His battle was Chicamauga where he was severely wounded and left of the field for dead until found by the Confederates. He was exchanged but spent 3 moths in hospital and a further 6 months in convalescence before returning to his unit just in time for the 2nd battle of Franklin, Tn.
