However, I think he gets more credit than he deserves, as there were other pieces, created 200 years before Michaelangelo, that are absolutely stunning, life-like and outside Italy, which is why they have been deliberately left off the best list.. So yes, Michaelangelo was a fantastic sculptor, and a great painter, but there were other great ones before him.

A wonderful documentary! When we went to Florence, and saw the statue of David, it was breathtaking!!! I stood in absolute awe of the beauty and magnificence of the statue. The marble is milk white, flawless. David’s physique is perfection.

I love him. As a gay artist, I feel his humanity and struggle and why people like us that are deeply hurt by the Church rejects the church. The real hell on earth it summons because of its belief that some people less is evil. I too wish this holy hypocrites the fire of painful hell for eternity.

The Pieta is displayed incorrectly. It's supposed to be on the floor, with light pouring down from above and behind the sculpture, illuminating Christ and placing Mary in shadow. The way is it now, distorts the figures, hiding the face of Jesus in order to elevate his mother instead.

Michelangelo did not paint laying down! He painted standing up with his head back. This was result in a lot of neck problems.
