- 2 cup of flour does not amount to 300 grams.(thank god it also had the grams stated there)
- Vanilla flavor didnt elevate the recipe. if anything i felt that it was the key reason that this was far from Walkers.
- i now have half portion of the unbaked dough that im neither willing to bake or dump.
You don't use a mixer with shortbread, it loses that "thing" that makes shortbread special. You use your hands and for the best shortbread, you use castor sugar and a good quality butter..

ОтветитьExcellent results although I used almond extract instead of vanilla. Don't know if it compares with Walkers but then Walkers has preservatives at least in the USA. Going to make some more right now. Half vanilla and half almond.

ОтветитьThis is American shortbread, I am sure it’s very good but it’s not Scottish (walkers). Only American recipes use powdered sugar, real shortbread uses granulated/ caster sugar. Makes a difference, the shortbread is denser.

ОтветитьThese turned out wonderful. Made them in the food processor and substituted 50g of flour for semolina. I had icing sugar, so used it. I am Scottish and never heard of shortbread being made with icing sugar before. I would normally use granulated sugar.
