It sucks that this is the first assumption I had after hearing that an aussie couple was murdered, but that's the thing, there aren't many other logical explanations for how a young aussie couple would get murdered in America.

It's unfair to compare Canada to the US in terms of the number of homicides. But the circumstances around a number of homicides in Canada over the last decade or so are very odd.

Here's the problem with America's gun laws. Law abiding citizens have to jump through hoops to own one, but criminally insane arseholes can buy one illegally anytime they want. You are at their mercy.
