Nice classic car love it
Ответитьname and shame the company who lost / damaged your parts
ОтветитьThe finishing on those covers is seriously impressive
Ответитьthose black engine covers look amazing
ОтветитьThis whole restoration is completely insane to take on with..well basically your own garage. This car will be absolutely top dog on the restoration scale and i so so SO hope that if you will sell this it will all in all pay for itself + a good worthy profit for all the hard work you and others help you with on this car. It is an absolutely beautiful car and the work you have done and are doing is amazing.
ОтветитьWell NewCo's Yellow Fuel Hose isn't quite right w/ that metal spiral. There does appear to be some nylon yellow braided Chinese hose from MGING, and HEEW, but I'm not sure I'd trust them and nylon doesn't look like cotton. SRT (Italy) makes a Red Cloth Braided fuel hose 51111, but I can't find the OE site to see if yellow is avail. Continental has a green one N203751 but if they make yellow, it isn't obvious. The closest thing that really looks like it might be Yellow Aramid Fiber sleeving from CTAM TechFlex/Flexo - campletiesandmore. There are some USA CIS rebuilders - with various *reviews*.. but I'd imagine you'd like to send off to someone closer you can better police at this point.
ОтветитьI couldn't hold myself thinking from " what if these black engine covers would be transparent ( heat resistant glass etc.) like the next generations..? " 🤔😅😉😄😇
ОтветитьWhen it comes to some jobs it is always better to pay a pro than tackle it yourself, some things take decades to master......Those covers are 100% like new.
Edit.....Only cure for woodworm is to remove the infested wood and replace it after treating the surrounding areas.
Look for some of this in regards to the yellow cloth hose cover ATLANTEX
1/2" ID Yellow Braided Cut-Resistant Sleeve for Hoses it'll handle up to 320°F. It's basically a high-pressure hose covered in the sleeve material.
As usual, great video! There is a reason why a half million subs is closing in. People likes these kind of filming and commenting.
ОтветитьRe the black engine covers for deck lid , have them vacuum formed with thin lexan polycarbonate , paint the inside black and leave it on top of original cover , will help protect
ОтветитьStunning work on the engine overs. Congrats to all.
ОтветитьShould send some parts to bangladesh, there body shop will replicate it or make damage parts look new.
Ответитьfor the hoses, search for yellow cloth braided hose. it's used in many applications.
ОтветитьIncredible, incredible work by those guys @ CSP. Wow. Just wow.
ОтветитьJust get black cloth braided pipe and spray it yellow
ОтветитьGreat job Scott
Wish I had a CSP near me in California
For rhe yellow hoses try JB Arkley & Son Coachbuilders Hartlepool.
Just seen a video with rhem in and they have yellow braided hoses
Rare and expensive parts going missing either to or from the refurbishers? Hmmm... Shipper employees getting bold?
ОтветитьContact Robert Edwards in Amersham
ОтветитьThe covers look fantastic...
ОтветитьThe metering unit looks very similar to a Ford escort RS turbo, KE Jet tronic mechanical fuel injection units. A lot of lads in the Ford forums use KMI fuel injection in Bedford and get great results. Hope this helps 👍
ОтветитьThis has been a monster build Scott.
Never envisioned it would take this long.
But the quality/ details is what its qll about.
..
Can't believe you're only in to this build ~ 50k that is really good going.
I know the engine is still to do.
..
And painting the bb in the original colour is the right thing to do now, seeing the bb finally coming together..
Although having a colour change was so tempting..
..
You should be t
Rightly proud of what you've achieved Scott, on a relatively small budget.
👍
The BB is going to be the best in the UK once finished with the detail you're putting into it.
ОтветитьHi Scott
I saw some yellow braided tubing in the Tom Hartley Jnr film of the restoration of his 250 GTO by Ferrari Classic he. It appears in a couple of the under bonnet shots. It may be the type you're looking for. Maybe Ferrari in Maranello can provide what you need.
Hop this helps with your awesome inspirational project.
My recommendation for that hose is to see if you can tap Freddy Hernandez contacts. He might even be able to get a hold of Jay Leno to find a guy. I know it's a Hail Mary but it's worth a try
ОтветитьMaybe try Tom Yang, in the US, for the hoses and such. He works on all kinds of Ferraris Including platinum level restorations.
ОтветитьCheck the geul distributor for a Mercedes with a m110 engine
ОтветитьFor the fuel injection you can drop a line to M&C Injection specialist here in Italy. They just do business on the refurb of the Bosch K and KE jetronic alone with some kind of testing and tuning system they invented and built themselves.
ОтветитьThis has been a long road but it will be worth it. Just please don't start putting boxes and tools on top like the Testarossa!
ОтветитьPuma Man knows the worst thing …..THE WORST THING
Is rare bits gone bandit .
You might be able to - replace the brake reservoir lines with stainless steel lines- forgoing the rubber lines altogether, and
cover these upgraded lines with- non automotive parts from the sailboat industry. Yellow Dynema stitched larger than the
SS lines or if you insist on using rubber brake hoses as a replacement option for the yellow braided cloth cover over these lines maybe.
GreyGoose restorations is your K-jet man @ratarossa
ОтветитьBody shops are not panel beaters. Yiu need a bonofide coach builder or panel beater ie classic car restorers.
ОтветитьKMI injection for the metering unit rebuild. See my TR common problems video for how they come back (looking like new). P.S, i know ive offered before, but ive put a few BB's through classiche so let me know if i can help, always happy to. TDG
That rear deck lid is perfect. well done to all involved.
ОтветитьThat car is becoming just drop dead gorgeous 👍
ОтветитьOk so anyone sandblasting must wear a mask silicosis builds overtime as your body cannot get it out of your lungs
ОтветитьThose engine covers look better than new, simply amazing work.
ОтветитьGoogle CIS flowtech for fuel distribution
ОтветитьLooking incredible, doing great so far but as far as those hoses go I’d look into steel braided hoses, they’re strong, durable and they look great as well plus you can get then in any size and length. Just a suggestion, maybe paint the name on the valve covers?
ОтветитьMake sure you PPF those engine covers 👍
ОтветитьI’m gonna be 97 by the time this thing is done.
Ответить😮 can’t wait to see this finished. Looking amazing
ОтветитьAnother great video. Don’t bother painting that garage floor Scott, I wasted my time doing mine, just buy the cheap rubber click together floor tiles and it stops all the dust, I fitted them after I was disappointed with the floor paint it’s way better and goes down really quick so will stop any floor dust getting on that perfect Ferrari paintwork 👍
ОтветитьA good Hydraulic hose company can help you with those brake lines from the reservoir.
They don't just make high pressure hoses but stock chemical resistant ones too usually.
Non-neoprene or natural rubber plastic hose that's braided really.
You should definitely get the K-Jet fuel distributors and warm-up regulators (the other sensitive, critical component) rebuilt by someone who is an expert in these systems which were used in a number of cars of the period including my Porsche 928. Rebuild kits for the fuel distributor and WUR are available but it is not a DIY job. There is someone here in Australia who specialises only in the K-Jet and charges around AUD 1000 to rebuild the distributor and the WUR and I would assume there is someone similar in the UK. I would be surprised if your engine would even run without having this done given the length of time it's been sitting unused. Good luck, the BB512 is my favourite car of all time.
