This week we are sharing the third video in our How To Build A Shed Series. In it you will learn how to install floor sheeting on top of the floor joist system. It covers how to install the adhesive, cut the sheets, set the sheets and connect the tongue and groove. This video along with all the other videos in the series are a great shed building resource.
Ответитьhow come you didnt glue the second row of sheeting?
ОтветитьI'm very impressed with how professional this is being built. Your videos are the best I have seen thus far. Most important for me is showing this slow enough for those who have never built a shed before will understand exactly what your talking about and can view what your talking about. The explainations of why you are doing this and that is also very helpful Thank you for not add annoying music along with it. Great Job looking forward to the rest of the series.
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention that your supposed to leave a 1/8" gap on all sides of each board. I'll bet it's stamped right on each board.
Ответитьif my shed floor is going to be 20'' off the ground can I use this type of floor are do I need to use treated.? big difference in price. I live in south east Texas
ОтветитьThanks for the video. The 6x6 wood rails are just laid into dirt? Don't I need a footing of some kind to secure the whole structure to the ground? Without that would this shed be inclined to lift and turn over in high winds? e.g. Sandy? Or am I over thinking it? Is there anything you recommend to make this a little more secure to the ground?
ОтветитьiCreatables Can you do one on how to build a second story on a house??
ОтветитьHello ??? So u r telling me u can build a deck using osb is it good to use will u fall throw??
ОтветитьDo I need to use nails to attached the sheeting to the joists? Or, can I use screws? If so, what kind of screws?
ОтветитьGood video.
Ответитьis the adhesive necessary and what is the point of putting it down ?? seems alittle overkill
ОтветитьHow come you didn't install a vapor barrier especially using particle board and not treated?!?!?!?
ОтветитьDo you recommend any specific type of lumber for the floor framing?
Ответить4x8 t&g isn't 4x8. My 8x10 shed was left with a 1 1/4" gap over the rim joist. I guess I'll just cut a few 1 1/4" strips from the scraps and glue/screw it over the rim joist.
Ответитьsry to ask buy where can i get blue print or plans to build a 8x10 shed?
ОтветитьWhy did you glue?
ОтветитьIf you wanted a more solid floor could you place plywood underneath the frame, fill the channels with clean sand, then install the floor sheeting?
ОтветитьWhy not prime the sheets (dirt side only) before nailing
them down. With dampness from the ground, one day you
will put a foot right through it. With all that glue it will be a PIA
to replace.
Hmm., You're supposed to lay the sheets long edge transverse to the joists, aren't you? You do it parallel in the first shot, and perpendicular thereafter.
ОтветитьTo remove final tongue, can you use a flush trim router? Or is that a stupid idea?
ОтветитьWonder what the very best type of wood to use for the floor would be? also why not a vapor barrier under
ОтветитьHow did your board land on the center of a stud if it's 96" long and the boards are 16" o.c.? Wouldn't that put it flush with the edge of the stud (96/16 = 6)?
ОтветитьWhy use adhesive and nails? Not being critical this is a legitimate question thank you.
ОтветитьOSB flooring in a shed, close to the ground, with no moisture barrier? No thanks.
ОтветитьYou can tell he's got a lot of experience getting the boards to fall in the right spot. If I tried that, the board would probably slip and knock me over. LOL.
These videos have just enough detail without going overboard but they clearly show how to do things.
I really like it. Also check out Woodglut and plans.
ОтветитьI thought chipboard doesn't last long?
ОтветитьIs it ok to use OSB for a floor? I"m in WI. Cold winters, humid summers.
ОтветитьWhat do you recommend how to water proof the floor sheeting if the shed foundation is built over dirt in a heavy rain area in order to prolong the life of the flooring?
Ответить"Great videos, actually the best I have seen!" "Also, the instructions are terrific!" Best wishes, I creatables!"
Ответитьwhat nails ?
ОтветитьIt helps the boards tongue and groves mate to their fullest if you avoid nailing to close to the mating edges until the next board is fully engaged. So keep back from mating edges approximately 12 inches until the next board has been fully engaged then fasten down up to the edge. Makes a world of difference getting these boards tongue and groves fully meshed without hammering the crap out of the next mating edge. Hope that makes sense. On a shed base I would also recommend a urethane exterior caulking be used in the grove to aid sealing the joint.
ОтветитьCan diabetes drink coconut water?
ОтветитьThat floor looks like sheet.
ОтветитьGreat video, im starting my shed!! Do you have plans?
ОтветитьSurprised ;it's really good. check the whole series out!
Ответить? can I use blocks instead of 4x4's Thanks in advance love the video
