I still consider people being judged on their achievements better than being judged by looks ,race, height etc. Because you atleast have a chance even if it is slim to achieve but your race ,color ,nationality ,height you can never change that .
Ответитьthank you Bro! that was nice

ОтветитьNice diagnosis, but on what else could you base your self worth? Thinking you are worthy wether you achieve/do anything is far more narcissistic. Also, we are biologically programmed to be hierarchical, at least to a degree. Isn't worth a scale on which to measure hierarchy? What are the other sources that you mention? Make your own yardstick instead of using the one your neighbor uses? That just means that you are judging your achievement on another scale. It is like a monkey, who can't outrun the deer, saying "but the real contest was climbing all along!". Picking your own scale is better than taking on someone elses, but if there is a way to not have your self worth depend on performance one way or the other, I haven't heard it.
Ответитьwhat kind of society we lived in that created a narcissistic sick man like donald trump
ОтветитьI really think you overestimate humans. I don't believe they are obsessed to achieve things. I believe they are obsessed that others might achieve more than them. And this is a far more grim image of humanity. Hell is other people. That's why happiness is so rare. It's not because people are unhappy, but rather the fact that others might be happier than them. And this thought doesn't allow them to sleep well at night. And they don't even know for sure if others are happier than they are. They just assume that they are.
Ответить❤ Bravo, este episodio es genial, gracias por estás verdades.

ОтветитьI was feeling blue for couple of months, this video helps me a lot to get of out of that mood
ОтветитьRemember, the dark side is the good side. It may be more difficult to see in the darkness, but the light is the one that blinds you. When you rely on conformity to guide your way through life, it blinds you to alternatives. NEVER measure your life own life by someone else's metric. Define your own success, find your own happiness; walk your own path.
ОтветитьIt certainly sucks but a person's value is measured by his/her achievements.
ОтветитьMy worth comes inherently from within me, first and foremost, at the very core of my worth. From there, though, I've accomplished a lot. I'm a very good artist I've sold some of my drawings for upwards of over $100 on the high end, I can make a resume like nobody's business, same with writing haikus, and am a fairly good writer. I've overcome multiple addictions and lost 50 pounds in the past year, 40 of which has been in the last 4 months. I'm well-built and am a very good problem solver. I'm not afraid to take risks, and it's resulted in both significant losses, but more importantly, significant gains, both in terms of capitol and quality of life. I foster an attitude of gratitude. I'm grateful for everything I have, down to the clothes on my back, and would say it every single day even when I didn't have a penny to my name. I should be dead (from addiction) but am still alive today.
I have 14 months clean, and people now look to me as a role model for both DBT therapy that shows that it works, and for recovery as a whole. I can admit that I'm capable of being narcissistic at times (which is why I got off social media and deleted all my accounts, from IG to Facebook to Twitter), but admitting that you have a problem is the first step to solving it. I can also admit that I'm capable of doing very evil things, which gives me checks and balances against said evil (the most evil people don't think they're evil at all or capable of evil). I'm currently working on quitting porn.
You can literally write a book on my life, and I plan to eventually, after I finish writing a book on psychedelics and their potential benefits. I love myself today, and that's worth more than all the gold in the world. You can't put a price on good mental health and feeling good about yourself. Mental health comes before wealth, every time. I've had 5 ego deaths, and seen across the veil into the afterlife, through not just psychedelics, but APing and NDE as well. Life is a gift. I believe the soul comes here to this reality full of limitations in order to learn and grow profoundly. Consider it a gift that you are here.
I think ultimate success is freedom, the freedom to do what you want. You're not trapped in an unhappy job, you can afford to take vocation, you can afford to travel to different places without thinking about money 24/7, you have meaning in life (raising children), and you're financially stable where when you need health care of dental care, you don't think about the cost. That's success. I've specific noted that once you certain 2-10 million dollars, you're really comfortable in life. I think beyond certain point the person become directionless, everything become really meaningless. One of the worst things to happen to another in life is the feeling of directionless, because this person no longer have any meaning, any purpose. The ultimate goal in life (in my opinion) is to have children. I see their success as my own success. Their behavior as reflection of my own parenting. Is this not a meaningful life to pass on a legacy? It's like this person have fulfill their biological purpose: to reproduce. Success is not being constantly burden with worries, the ultimate goal is to indulge, minimize pain and suffering. It's like such a headache constantly worrying about what others think of you when you have no control. It's like very depressing when entire self-worth is dependent on other's opinion? Honestly although I preach these, it can be very difficult to control ourselves.
ОтветитьGreat video! Since I left social media I felt so much better in my skin! Not feeling obligated to show others my „amazing“ life. And also not comparing my life to others lives. At first it felt so weird to not be on there anymore. It felt like I ended a toxic relationship on which I depended though. Posting cool stuff from my vacation or whatever got me likes and comments, approval and attention. It felt great. Then when a post didn‘t „perform“ well, I felt so bad for posting it. Even though I liked it, I ended up deleting it, when it didnt get enough likes. What a weird behavior if you ask me. I‘m off instagram for almost a year now. My life situation didn‘t change much. I still do the same stuff and meet the same people. But I‘m overall just a happier person.
ОтветитьI like the fact that he always speaks up about topics which are not usually discussed on social media. people are hesitant to talk about such things openly
ОтветитьI thank the author and all the commentators for sharing their thoughts. It has made me humble.
ОтветитьVery useful video, thank you!
ОтветитьHow can I contact the creator of this video, I want to collaborate by offering a version with voice in Spanish, please if anyone see this comment give an email or something
ОтветитьYou know a funny thing is people are quick to label you as “lazy”when you don’t do what they want.
Don’t let someone attack your character for their advantage. This includes bosses.
if i have to choose between an achievment sociiety and a discipline society, i would choose the potential for achievment and personal realization. the problem is not this choice but the fact that many people prefer the interpretation of success as made of money, visibility, and intellectual ignorance by choice. true fulfillment can be found in THE PURSUIT OF KNOWLEDGE and inner growth. the modern interpretation of achievment is basically a different form of conformism. that is just as extreme as the society of submission hinted at here.

ОтветитьSimply being does not further humanity. You must do to further ourselves as a species. The better question to ask is whether or not a species should be judged by their strength, development or achievements. That is a question for God. Or alien invaders.
Ответитьbeing a physically disabled person, society expects from us to be a successful rich famous person otherwise we are not worthy of respect and family. Decent earning not letting us the way we want to live. No partner (as not much money). On top of that, narcissist people trying to fulfill their dreams through me. Never asked what i love, what is my passion and ruined my career for 5yrs. I wish i could die somehow 😞I am feeling so lonely emotionally, no one ask how i am feeling. Some forced me to become a monk to get appreciation from society as i am Indian woman. So you can guess PwD people life here. Tabboo, lack of awareness, no accessibility..
ОтветитьIn neoliberal capitalism everyone is a product to be bought and sold on the labor market your value in this society is equivalent to the value of what you own plus the value you bring to capitol which is represented by your position in the labor market. A job that makes lots of money is makes even more money for those who employ your services while people who don’t contribute to the wealth accumulation of capital such as a poet or an artist is often seen as illegitimate if they don’t make money.
ОтветитьI want my own business and to work for myself. I've been trying for many years that is my version of SUCCESS!

ОтветитьBeautiful video.
Ответитьdo you have a point????????
ОтветитьOkay there was a disciplinary society and now there is achievement society. How about we transform into a LOVING society where to love and take care of each other is the priority. Somehow people managed to see disciplinary society isn't working. Same way one day people will understand achievement society isn't working either. Cause there is no happiness neither peace end of the day. One day people will crave love in the right way, not for being a human doings but for being a human being
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьI'm a 45 year old "nobody" who's trying to start life over... wish me luck 🤘
ОтветитьI'm a human not a Uuman
Ответитьthis video is a bit confused, is it about social media? the narrators life experience? self perception is the only thing it doesn't really discuss? what is the end goal of the narrator here? not to believe in oneself? its okay not to achieve anything?
Ответитьi M TOO Lazy ha ha ha... i dont mind(achieving nothing-thepolice- see what they have become...an institution
ОтветитьGreat video! Appreciate your content. Stay gold
ОтветитьWhat else are you defined by as a man but the collection of your actions? You can't have self worth "just because" especially if you don't provide any value to yourself and others.
Ответитьthe rat race is real; the hustle culture is out of hand: yu cant get acap on the waterlooplein for 1 euro, in a psh shop its 50 euro...go figure...not that i mind very much....i am not seeking status anymore....working hard is stoopid
Ответитьcome into the world with no family, targeted by gangs to keep me out of society and hold me back. 'he will never grow up' etc.. only way out is to join the military. All i've done is try to improve and build a better future. I'm at a point where i've seen how fake people are and I don't want to be anywhere near them.
ОтветитьSociety is a scam =people have become fake- social media/ regular media is fake-capitalism is dead - money is the isolation & separation of people
ОтветитьBecause in the west we are trapped in a mental prison
ОтветитьA convenient thing to believe until it comes time to put food on the table, at which point you best hope you've achieved something else you're going to go hungry.
