Great video! Now I need to go buy a wifi extender for our camper.
ОтветитьNew subscriber here #.117 I hope you can follow our journey. I look forward to following your channel. I love your channel logo. Great video as we need to have internet to work. Lots of great information.
ОтветитьFirst of all Great Video
Just a comment on the EX6100v2, I just bought two of these and they are somewhat better than the EX6100. The range is some better on the v2 with fewer drops. I found to to get better speeds when in Access Mode. I use them for 5ea 2MP WiFi Security Cameras. U have them set for max resolution at a bandwidth of 6144kbs. I have ran all 5 on one extender at one time and there was a little bit of buffering but then again that was 30720 kbs hitting a bottleneck. All in all I am real happy with them.
BTW I forgot to say I bought my two EX6100v2 from Amazon USED but looked new for $14.00 each. Also I went to Home Depot and bought a plastic box and made 2 holes for the antennas and hole on the side for the Ethernet cable. Also cut two slots for the AC plug. After I put it in the box I sealed around the antennas and Ethernet wire with rubber glue. Then I just plugged it into a cheap extension cord. It is mounted out on the same pole as 1 of the cameras about 15 ft. above the ground. And now it is water proof.
ОтветитьI have the same extender but what did you do with the yellow plugs I would like to know.
ОтветитьThank you very much for the information @HomeAdrift. I’ve been researching WiFi range extenders to use with my Roku sticks in the camper. I think I’m going to try the NetGear device first to avoid drilling and running wire all through the coach. And probably do as you did and pair it with a router. Thanks again.
ОтветитьWill the Netgear EX6100V2 work for pulling in public wifi?
ОтветитьThank you for the info man what a blessing!
ОтветитьWhich wifi router did you use to connect to the EX6100V2
ОтветитьHave you ever done a video doing software setup and connection of the ex6100v2 extender to the wifi router. If you did, is there a link.
ОтветитьI clicked on the AMAZON Ex6100 link and this popped up.
NETGEAR AC1200 WiFi Range Extender (EX6150-100NAS)
Is this an upgrade replacement to the EX6100V2
Hi there. Thanks for all the information! Stupid question, when using the extender in an RV, do you also use a router? or do you only use the router at your home?
Ответитьdid you try use a smaller USB cable for the camp pro? curious to know if it performs better that way..
ОтветитьGood info but PLEASE change your shots! Show close ups of what you're talking about and get the camera off the same ol' shot all the way through. You know how boring that is? Let's SEE these things not just lying on a table. SHOW them in detail so we can at least visualize what you're talking about. And NEVER interrupt your presentation to ask people to subscribe. We all know how to do this and don't need to be "reminded." I never review a video until it's completed, and don't need to be told how to rate. I rate or subscribe based on information, presentation and above all, no one "telling" me how to do it.
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention downside to the cheaper ones is it needs AC plug, there seems to be no DC option.
Ответитьyeah would love the netgear starlight Arial setup
ОтветитьThank you so much for this! So what kind of separate router do I need to get then?
ОтветитьGreat video, Aric...exactly what I was looking for. EX6100 just arrived and looking forward to get it cranking on our Thanksgiving junket up to the FL Panhandle. Once I get this connected and proven for us, I'll look at that Nighthawk router. Thank you!
ОтветитьThanks for the in depth info! I’m kinda new to full time living in an rv! I live in an rv park. I’ve been tryin to find me a WiFi booster. The question I have is how do I use one when I don’t have access to the rv park router? I’m using theirs that’s offered. The ones I’ve looked at tell me too push a button on the router to connect booster. I’m so confused! Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!! And I’m a new subscriber!!!
ОтветитьIs there a WiFi extender you are aware of that I can use with 12V power? Instead of the 110v outlet? I have the WiFi Camp Pro, and I have wasted so much time to make it work it just doesn’t work. I wish I found your video before purchasing it.
ОтветитьGreat info : question: does the net gear extender allow you to connect open networks (captive portal networks) like McDonald’s or Starbucks
ОтветитьGreat info. I’m getting an extender now. I was looking at the camp pro 2 mini. Does it have the same firmware problems as the one you show? Thanks!
ОтветитьMy apologies in advance here, dont mean to sound like a dummy, I want to get better wifi pickup inside my Camper when at parks with wifi. If I purchase this netgear EX6150, will I NEED a router too? Or will this netgear ex6150 pull in the wifi park signal, and my devices will connect to this netgear extender booster? I dont understand. Can you please explain to help me better understand?
ОтветитьDo you recommend a particular router to use with the netgear box in my RV?
ОтветитьThanks for the informative video/review. I see that Netgear and others also have WiFi “Mesh” extenders. Will these Mesh extenders operate the same in campgrounds as you’ve described in the video? Or, should I shy away from Mesh? One I’m looking at is the Netgear Nighthawk X4 (EX 7300).
ОтветитьGreat info . I drive a truck and looking to get stronger WIFI from truck stops and Walmart, Lowe’s, etc... I a generator with 1800 watt inventor . what would work ?
ОтветитьAll this stuff will be as obsolete as dial up modems once SpaceX gets Starlink up and running. They just launched two more batches of satellites...
ОтветитьNice video. I need a quality RV wifi booster that runs off of USB/12V (I often don’t have 110 access) - what might you recommend? Thank you!
ОтветитьI came up with the same solution, great minds think alike LOL.
ОтветитьLook for "active" USB 3 cable. I have a Marantz microphone (USB output). Never heard a microphone with no noise before, awesome sound, and it's connected through a ~30 foot Tripp Lite active USB 2 cable to my PC. Been enjoying it for years, I'm a believer. You probably need a USB 3 port and cable for that WiFi application.
ОтветитьI just odered the v2 did you do a video how to use it in campground wifi or set up video?
ОтветитьI want to use for a fire stick in my rv how do I set it up
Ответитьive got an older camper and sometimes even on the park wifi i cant get signal inside i can stand at the window and it helps
i would just lilke to get signal inside my camper instead of going outside to get decent signal? What would be best for me i think an external antenna and a router?
Thanks so much for this. The set up with the extender and router works great. And the best thing I used what I had at home with no extra cost. Appreciate it.
ОтветитьIf I need to get my home WiFi to my barn about 0.2 miles away in distance, will ex6100v2 pickup the signal from my house if I have an ex6100v2 at the barn with line of the sight?
ОтветитьI’m watching this three years after you made it and I actually really appreciate it. Very good food for thought.
Ответитьredport
product is ridiculous. had it working once, them it wouldn't connect. im back to tv antenna on the boat adter wasting 600 bucks.
I have the camppro2v2, it's mounted on a pole at the front of our seasonal and from the back of our spot where the deck and gazebo is doing speed tests with a Samsung S22Ultra Ive gotten somewhere between 25-100% faster download speeds going thru the campro2v2 now i think thats mostly because its mounted on a pole and has direct line of site, the signal thru their app is 90% so it's pretty good. I have experienced it dropping so that is a think but all in all in the right circumstances its a good buy. My next experiment will combine 4 accesspoints connected to a load balanced router. My thought is that because they throttle each connection i can get 4x the connection speed doing this.
ОтветитьHow far can I be from the campus router for the extender to see the campsites Internet? We were just at site that only had connection at the office about 400 yards away. Also any updates on which extender to buy? The one in this vid is no longer available. Thanks
ОтветитьYes, my question is. Where should I plug it in the outside? Plug inside the house or inside the Rv.
