Sure chinese companies with billions and billions of debt; often selling under production costs will be dumping a lot of cars - of course they will go broke in the mean time. There isn't a 100% BEV maker in China that makes any more and all are in great debt. if subsidies are cut - they'll have no chance of becoming profitable.

Other interesting news that's a big deal, both Mercedes and Audi "facing a Jaguar moment" in China:

1. Merecedes:

"...zero sales of their top model in October.

Chinese competing brands are cheaper and provide a full option package for less than the starting price of this $40k EQE (which costs $70k including VAT in Europe for an empty model)."

Total sales for the last four months: 18 cars, down from an already poor couple thousand the whole prior year.

2. Audi:

Likewise the E-Tron is offered for a record low $48k, yet sales in October were ZERO, and a total of 13 units for the last four months. Again down dramatically from the already low couple thousand for the whole of prior year.

Stellantis has a lot going for it despite its recent troubles. I rented a Grand Wagoneer during a vacation last week…the Hurricane 3.0L inline twin turbo six was amazing…super smooth, ultra-powerful and fairly efficient. The navigation (U-Connect) was similarly world-class. So possibly the engineering fundamentals are solid, and they just need to get the senior leadership team in order. There could be a bright future for the company given a leadership team with less of a focus on short-term growth.

You do know that BYD started with parts (batteries) for cellphones and laptops and never stopped, right? Besides cars, BYD also deals with:
- Consumer electronics, as you mentioned, and including not just manufacture but also design; helpful for making the touch screens of their cars in-house.
- Batteries; it's the second largest battery manufacturer in the world.
- Powertrains and their components, such as electric motors; Toyota is one of their customers.
- Semiconductors, both for logic and power.
- Solar panels. Including in solutions with all the electronics and batteries needed to store and use the electricity, ranging from small scale to grid-scale.
- Led lamps, ranging from car lamps to huge led billboards.
- Rail transit, including monorails.
- medical supplies, a new business unit created during the pandemic to make facemasks for BYD's factories.
- Buses, trucks, forklifts, etc.

Stellanty's board is half to blame since they didn't know how long to keep Tavares. How is the board going to run a company when they were that careless to begin with? What a mess this company and a stupid one at that with their Stellantics! And Jeep IS NOT a luxury brand!
