1 Minute Art Lesson: Learn About Water Soluble Pastels (Art School with Betsy Beier)

One of my favorite art mediums to use - especially on the go - are water soluble pastels. The are so simple to use! They basically are like a crayon, where you can draw anything you want or color in a shape easily. If you press harder, you will get a darker color, and lighter will be more of a shade.

The magic of these pastels, though are in the fact that they are water soluble. This means you can just use a simple paint brush and some water, and watch the pastels turn into watercolors! (I use a water brush as it has both the water and brush in one.)

So grab a set of water soluble pastels, put them in your bag, along with your sketchbook and create some colorful impressions of your day!
