It's strange the way americans pronounce the flap T or fast D, because it never sounds as a 'D' but as an "R". Saw countless videos but don't understand there must be a detail in the pronounciation that creates that effect of a "D" sounding as an "R".

I downloaded the free PDF, and it says that flap t occurs in the word "effective." I am a bit confused because t is not between two vowels in that word.

It all sounds very sloppy English.

What rubbish. I'm British, and all TS can be used if one isn't lazy. Flap T? No one says WahTer, as you say, they say it as Warter. Flap T= Crap T.
It's an insult to proper English
