I first saw Fancis Lederer in the 70's. In Rod Serling's "Night Gallery". He plays a noble, living in an old castle in the Balkans. The little boy says: "Grandpa, tell me, again, the story ... of how you fought in the great war, and drove the Nazis from our homeland." Turns out the old man was a Vampire! Un-able to be killed by lead bullets from the German machine guns. So, he killed the invading soldiers.

Lederer, himself, often played Nazis. Because of his sinister looks and accent. I am thinking, particularly of the Warner picture "Confessions Of A Nazi Spy". About Germans who infiltrated our society, just before, and during WW-2.

"Ten thirty o'clock". Who talks like that?

So where did the dinners disappear too so quickly?

"Landing instructions, please" ...... "ahhh, land on the runway you stupid idiot". ..... "Roger".

Would he not wonder how she knew what room he was in if she put that note under his door?

I mentioned in every Black and White films that these are Gems of a Gem, great story, great pictures Crystal Clear, no abusive language, no fighting without any cause etc. and this makes the story Awesome ❤❤❤❤

He orders a Manhattan on the plane,REALLY? At the beginning the stewardess says “ let me take your hat and coat”? REALLY! 🍸🧑‍✈️🙃

The fashion alone is worth the time to watch this fantastic thriller from Hollywood's Golden Age, Women in dresses and those swell hats, Men in smart fitting suits, shirts and shoes.

I love these old films but why is the plot always centered to please the woman, why did she run if she wasn't guilty, she always playing the victim, 3 men (the husband, the stranger, and the 'friend'), two are dead and one gets the woman, it's like the woman is the prize doing nothing but getting the best out of the evil hardworking men, and one of the 'thugs' whom she just met decides to be a good guy and gets the prize.

Quite a good film actually. Well worth watching at perhaps 1-25 speed. July, 2023.

Masterpiece

No one with a constant stare into a phone or cameras everywhere you look. Time was different.

Loved it, C! Those really were the days and that was the year I was born. Things really were all that innocent back then. Men didn't curse in front of women or children, movies were clean, people generally shared the same values in America. It was great until the 1960's when my generation chose to throw out everything our parents fought WW ll for and that they valued.
