ОтветитьCould you tell me what the music is? Thanks
Ответитьcan't wait for sunday night!
ОтветитьSigur ros - Rafstraumur. :) Amazing song by an amazing band
ОтветитьThe Mill. Or if you're David Cameron, The Wet Dream.
ОтветитьThis is set in the 1830's yet one of the characters has a 'scouse' accent!
Ответитьdid you find the music out?
ОтветитьYes scousers were around then? liverpool has been around way before then
ОтветитьHave you been to the mill itself? great place to visit, we sat on the cotton beds and wondered the classrooms and mill, then seing it on tv, great stuff
ОтветитьNo Scouser's were NOT around then! Although Liverpool has been around since 1207 the scouse accent did not appear until the turn of the century around early 1900's . This is from Wikipedia.. Until the mid-19th century, the dominant local accent was similar to that of neighbouring areas of Lancashire. The influence of Irish and Welsh incomers, combined with European accents, contributed to a distinctive local Liverpool accent. The first reference to a distinctive Liverpool accent was in 1890's
ОтветитьThe show features all manchester and Liverpudlian accents, as it may have been many hundres of years ago but scousers obviously came about then, people were not all posh accented you know
ОтветитьOK I'll make this as clear as possible... THE SCOUSE ACCENT DID NOT BEGIN TO EVOLVE UNTIL THE VERY END OF THE 19th CENTURY This drama is set in the 1830's a time when the 'scouse' accent did NOT exist!! Do you honestly believe people from Liverpool (a Lancashire town until 1974) all spoke with a scouse accent straight from day one when everyone else in Lancashire spoke with a Lancashire accent? Do yourself a favour Connor and arm yourself with some knowledge!
ОтветитьDude enough, we had scouse accents back then, did you live back in the 1800's? looking well for yourself i see
ОтветитьIt's Sigur ros - Rafstraumer. Thumbs up so people can see.
ОтветитьWrong music
ОтветитьJamie Draven.....
ОтветитьLast episode of the mill series on channel 4
Anyone know where I can see this show? Im in the US.
Ответитьbloomin love this show
ОтветитьI just filmed my latest vlog on this guys! I featured the Mill and this program- if you fancy seeming a day at the place where this show was filmed- head over to my channel <3 lots of love xx
ОтветитьI just finished watching this series and will say it's worth a watch (very sad yet insightful).
ОтветитьSo much fuss over the accents, what accents do you think they should have had then? Do you think they should have time travelled back to 1830 and analysed how they spoke to make it more authentic?
ОтветитьVery underrated drama pity only two series
Ответитьtime to see this comment section be taken up by gcse students
Ответитьthis looks so different to the short story
ОтветитьReminds you that at one time capitalists were all whining about "child labor laws" and how that was going to destroy the economy.
ОтветитьLoved the series a pity it finished short. Come on Channel4 bring this series back :D
ОтветитьOne of the best drama's I've ever watched. Totally blown away by it ever time.
ОтветитьI hope channel 4 will bring this series back.... please, please, please....a fan here from the Philippines
ОтветитьCan't understand why it is canceled.
Ответитьshow de bola !!!!
ОтветитьVery jarring music that does not gel with what I'm seeing in this trailer. This might have put me off watching the show. Gothic themed classical music isn't that bad you know? You're already doing a show about miserable, Victorian mill workers, why not use appropriate music? It's not like you'd scare your little audience off.
ОтветитьAmazing series! Wish it was appropriate to show my students because it showcases what we have been learning about in the Industrial Revolution!
ОтветитьFun fact Mary Greg is one of my ancestors
ОтветитьLoved this series, except I feel it left us hanging on the character Peter. If there’s a book out there?
ОтветитьWhy did this series stop 😢 my mum wouldn’t let me watch it as a kid so watching it now as an adult and it’s brilliant!
