Maneuverability, speed, and efficiency. The pace of tactical responses, button-click warfare, and lightning-fast strikes are all defined by developments in the agility of machinery. This machinery has evolved to such a degree through the pressure of global warfare, that it is almost unrecognisable today.

The F-35B can not travel at mach 2 or even close, so many issues it can not perform to its design specs.

Stripped of this flag-waving, all you people have said is that during peace governments are too busy giving each other and their relatives the $$ to spend it on technology, it's only when civilization is in peril that they spend a penny on anything besides themselves. Don't glamorize war for these feeble arguments.

Remember the "crime" that the Soviets committed (after literally winning the European theater) was ... To not be weak. That was it. They're literally why the UK even exists, yet, the Brits harbor to this day, animus that bleeds into Russia.

I cannot stand the History Hit advert volume. They really need to normalize the audio with the audio in the video. It's unwatchable for me and others who view using studio monitors.

Actually the Soviet Union had it's own VTAL aircraft. It never got mass produced, but it's incorrect to say that the Harrier is the only one produced during the Cold War.
