Problem with Thanos is that he is very arrogant. This makes him evil as he thinks his ideology of mass murder is correct.
ОтветитьObviously, but it is also very smart move by the script writers to create a Thanos which would be liked by those idiots and delusionals since they exists and in great numbers. Good for MCU
Ответитьi really do HATE ENFJ people like this channel this channel needs to be terminated and shutdown...............
Ответитьin other words Capitalism saves the day as usual
ОтветитьI assume that Thomas Robert Malthus had a "certain" population that he could say that needed to be reducted
ОтветитьThere was a guy who worked at a comic book store I visited who parroted many of the same stupid things thanos did, almost presuming that thanos had a decent point, I actually can’t believe I didn’t call him out immediately, but dang i wish I had
ОтветитьYou're 100% right about the last part. The movies did not counter his points well.
ОтветитьWhat I find even more heinous about thanos is that in the original comic adaptation of thanos, he wanted to commit genocide with his snap to impress lady death so basically he wanted to kill half of the universe to get laid.
ОтветитьComic Thanos was scarier. I’m not trying to be a contrarian or elitist. I don’t care for Marvel COMICS. But he’s a simp/incel. Anyone like that that’s already incredibly powerful wielding the power of the stones is a horrifying thought.
ОтветитьA more reasonable proposition for thanos's solution would be to eliminate a few people over time (moderate solution), rather than immediately eliminate half of population (extremist way). It can be criminals, greedy businessmen, evil politicians, or less desirable people like disabled or those with incurable sickness. That means increasing the death rate gradually using the power of infinity stones if his prediction (finite universe resources) comes true. If his prediction turns out to be false, he still can make a U turn.
ОтветитьArguably, if I had the mindset of Thanos and had the Infinity Gauntlet of wiping out half of the population entire world and planet, wouldn't I just weed off the ones who are actually bad like the criminals?
I mean there are as many good people as well as bad people.
Murderers, extortioners, robbers, child abusers, tyrants, war criminals, rapists, etc. of all kinds would be neutralized out of existence, there would be no bias and be saved from overpopulation.
Not ony that.... But Star Lord even said that the planet is off its axis, with gravitational pulls all over the place.
Meaning an event beyond anyone's control caused the planet to shift its axis and the wild gravitational pulls caused massive deaths and making the once rich planet barrens.
It wasn't overpopulation, or finite resources, it was cataclysmic event that which destroyed Titan
Love how Thanos held cosmic universal power literally in the palm of his hand but instead of increasing the size of the universe or giving everyone millions of thousands of resources or gave planets that suffered from over population technology to make space travel he immediately went to slaughter.
ОтветитьThis video was made for small minded people.
ОтветитьThanos is just an arrogant, selfish and hypocritical person.
ОтветитьI do think we need less people on the planet right now, but only because of how our current system uses, or doesn't use, energy and resources to provide for them.
There are plenty of resources to go around but there are those that hoard or restrict access to them to others.
There's plenty of energy to be had in sun and wind and nuclear, if only we could agree to switch to them instead of relying on what are more limited resources in fossil fuels.
Thanos is a ego or evil jerk a sociopath monster.
ОтветитьAll Hail Thanos!!!
ОтветитьHe would have been right to dust people who drive slowly in the left lane (passing lane in the US).
ОтветитьVideo was made by a shill for (((capitalists)))
ОтветитьI'm sorry but that people aren't just another mouth to feed argument is lacking and comes from a privileged country that takes everyone's resources and achievements as 'its' own to exist. And with an Earth that faces great overpopulation , and whole slew of 'earthlike' and humanoid aliens that are quite simular-- I'm just saying this damn UNIVERSE has a long long way to go, if it got there on it's own(*clears throat*without Thanos forcing all of the Avengers to unite
I know, I know just sayin' *um um*)(And the universe didn't even unite, but that was just the closest thing to it happening and it dead A wouldn't have happened without Thanos) - so it's like say Thanos did it right, did it how was supposed to do it(lol)(mwah-hahaha) only snapping away half of the humanoids instead-
I present a counter what percentage of that half snapped away would've made that much of a difference to benefit their Entire species as a whole, Thanos wasn't concerned with that 'point' (and I know to an extent how that may sound but think about all the avengers don't and didn't consider- such as the destruction they may cause while admittedly saving lives, I know I know just saying.)
Thanos was concerned about the maximum amount of resources (aka benefit really
, on a..yes.. survival also long-term and practical level [before a reaching freaking planetary collapse– due to lack of resources])
that a society would have, that all societies would have.
And as for why he didn't double the resources, people would keep consuming and on and on and nobody would learn their lesson, also (I JUST thought of this admittedly) what if in the blessing of those doubled resources people got greedy to a point.. like.. alien invasions and stuff, like what we thought [or 'thought']Thanos was prior to the Avengers, now that my friend is quite literally the opposite of the correction Thanos desires.
And as for why he didn't do anything more , he wasn't interested in anything else yet again (.More being like I would've just made the universe perfect , like at least made everyone not have any desire to commit crimes or gotten rid or the negativity bias🤓 or gotten rid of poverty & hunger*laughs*
or at least at least made it so that people don't have to eat or .. like Asguardians I think ,
But) like I said.
I'm just saying on paper 📜 .. let's say a comic book panel.. Thanos is right (-to a degree on a conceptual-level , based on his argument.. but yeah bro does literally have the infinity stones tho *Natasha shrugs*).

🌟And as for this video itself:
Come on dude. ( I get that this is a college-style essay (if you know what I mean) but you did not Have to (forceably lol) make this video about/an allegory for 'authoritarianism' ). FIRST OF ALL Thanos did not say anything about his planet being ravaged by no god-dang poverty, he said that they didn't have enough RESOURCES to survive- as a species, you came in and literally twisted the narrative. Second, I know you touched on natural resources & that was a good point on-
the resources & methods of which(that) we haven't used Yet,
but we all know that money was not among the 'resources' that Thanos was talking about. (Which leads into my 'third' point of)Like you yourself mentioned in the video- finance is a human invention and you've based in-part 'this whole video' on the presumptions of capitalism(which don't get me going but long story short capitalism is not a new modern invention, it has existed in one form or another for centuries just for the record.) but I'm just saying..
In the same MCU where Odin rules as the 'peaceful' king of the nine realms(which includes Earth by the way)(the same way how the [Norse/Norwegian]Vikings used to be some of the most violent brutish people in history & Norway is like the G.o.a.t of countries now(just saying- it's the most peaceful don't hate me 🥁😂*get it*) , you don't believe that there could be one world in the universe that's thriving and technologically advanced (like Xander) AND communist - even in this HYPOTHETICAL that's really impossible guys.
And pretending for a second that free trade isn't just an economic/ Financial System term( that like economics May‘ be reliant on Gov., not the other way around; conversation for another day. ) synonymous with a gov. that would allow for it to be free-
Free trade in-of-itself doesn't lead to prosperity, I mean sure it might lead to opportunities but you have to opportunities to have opportunities if you know what I mean so , not to make this super complicated I know right but let's not over-oversimplify this to
free trade=prosperity , which especially isn't the case when you don't have any resources ay.
Anyways now I could go on & on with your points in the video(everything before was admittedly typed before I watched it, tho I did watch with an open mind; I just knew you or somebody in the comments maybe would bring up the "more than just mouths to feed" argument that I have heard in other videos- to set the record straight, this is what I'm what I'm trying to do with this comment here). But-
Finally, I digress
P.S. Anyone who read all of this is crazy & awesome , and I appreciate it .
And Also
Peace ✌🏿🤴🏿
Too many so called “elite thinkers, experts, educators, scholars, scientists, humanitarians, activists,” etc. Believe and wholly subscribe to Thanos’ depressingly bleak, malthusian, and utterly false hysterical narrative predictions about the future. He is an unfortunately relevant portrait of the common mindset of many would be all powerful technocrats whom perceive the bulk of humanity as a superfluous burden upon the planet, nature, and more specifically an existential threat to their comfortable “productively prosperous” existences.
It’s an inherently irrational, dangerous, potentially destructive and authoritarian vision motivated by a closeted barely hidden misanthropic contempt and hatred of the majority of human beings. A paranoid elitist apocalyptic fantasy of which devalues as wholly unimportant and unnecessary the lives of most other human persons beyond a select favored few.
Bill Gates would be proud of thanos, and I mean, literally 💀💀💀
ОтветитьWe have real life thanoses, tons of them. the only difference is they don't have insane power, whole personal armies and a magic rock collection.
ОтветитьThanos had a noble plan, but his solution was poorly executed.
He looks and sounds just like Pain Sama from the anime Naruto, they both thought they are pure Utilitarians, but they ignored how their Anarchist ego side kept pushing up further more.
These same people who think Thanos was right, would also be in favor of the genocide happening now.
ОтветитьIt's ridiculous that the concept of the circle of life is inherently "bad" amongst these people. They would never give up their ease of life for the sake of someone else. These people that think Thanos was right are the epitome of selfishness and living for yourself.
ОтветитьThanos is a bloody moron and those who believe in his ideas are too. There's so many stars, worlds, galaxies in the universe that theres basically limitless resources for us. Hell with the tech in the Marvel universe we could make massive orbital farms and habitats, there are worlds out there untouched and ready for colonization and resource extraction. We're not gonna run out of space, materials or food if we play things right.
Thanos is an idiot. If he truly cared hed have expanded outside of Titan.
Lol imagine thinking that private property rights protects innovation. Do you have any idea how many better versions of things will never see the light of day because of people like Bill Gates who basically patent trolled his competition out of business?
ОтветитьNO THANOS is rigth and this channel shuold be terminated @!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьAfrica has famine problems and people starve but that's more to do with poor infrastructure and corruption
ОтветитьThanos: Explains his plan
Banner: Wait a minute… explains why Thanos is dumb and more educated people have a lower birth rate and better resource utilization
* Cue in the credits music *
Honestly best Revenger move 😂
Unlike Thanos, ozymandias from Watchmens plan makes some sense. Hes willing to sacrifice lots of people to focus humanity to a greater enemy to stop thermal nuclear war. Is it perfect? No but its a momentary seace fire to give the leaders with nuclear weapons some time to recalibrate. Is it a permanent fix? No but time atleast gives hope. Thanos's plan works similarly but it indiscriminately kills half the population and doesnt take into account that it will kill so many that are necessary to continue its current infrastructure. Its just dumb. Granted Ozymandias didn't have anything close to the power of the darn infinity gauntlet! Thanks could have easily made all the soil on earth to be infinitely fertile and make crops grow 10× faster removing the whole food problem non existence. A family can have a couple 4 by 4 pieces of soil around the house to grow crops as they please or the community can get together and have the small plots of land to grow personal crops and bye bye to food shortage. It's just silly.
ОтветитьHe caused genocide.
ОтветитьI kinda wish they had gone with comic Thanos' reason for doing it. As silly as it was, it actually makes more sense than the movie canon reason.
ОтветитьAnybody knows the background music?
ОтветитьYeh Malthus was wrong
ОтветитьHe just doing is wrong all wrong.
ОтветитьWhat an extremely one-sided argument that expresses itself as the correct truth. Meanwhile, the other side is also expressing their argument as the correct truth. And around and around we go.
ОтветитьHe is just a madman, not a manZ
ОтветитьFrom an economical, particularly capitalistic, standpoint, your claim is sound. I would like to hear your thoughts or responses to some of Asimov’s claims to the topic, which seem to complement your own. However, child labor and starvation being down does not negate the other negative impacts of our current population unless some of that proverbial cream rises to the top to help our issues with the rise in carbon emissions and global warming, etc. Oh and when those geniuses do come out to help, let’s also hope that the current industries profiting from fossil fueled technologies don’t discredit and smother the geniuses’ ideas. I’m a big fan of your optimism by the way; don’t take me as a cynic but rather a devil’s advocate who wants to be proven wrong.
Ответитьi dont agree with what he did but i dont think hes some pure evil iredeemable monster
he was trying to do somethin for the greater good
but he could have just used the reality stone to pump out infinite amounts of food
Agenda 2030: We like to leave little crumbs (clues)
ОтветитьYou know, after watching that twerking scene in She-Hulk, I was thinking to myself, "You know what? Thanos is absolutely right! He has an entire reason to wipe out half of everything!"
Watching that scene alone makes me have a severe HATRED for humanity because of how toxic and idiotic this world is.
Mathew is right. Evil Thanos is wrong.
ОтветитьHe could have literally changed reality to just make life for a growing population more sustainable, or made it so that the amount of resources creates a cap on population. But in all reality, population is not the problem. Sustainability it. We simply just need to learn how to make it sustainable. Ever heard about the effects of China's one child only policy? They're now not enough people in China to sustain the the production of resources. Resources are absolutely not finite. Most the time they simply require more work, or a change in production, and sustainability.
Ever since the movies came out, I've thought that thanos's idea was incredibly stupid.
Wrong. Thanos is not wise at all. He murders trillions, targeting innocent people. He causes genocide; he does not erase their pain. His actions are compatible with causing pain and suffering.
Are you just being a hypocrite? You struggle in Buddha class.
Not to mention all the additional deaths. Already in the post-credits scene there is a helicopter falling into a building and a lot of car crashes. Imagine you're on a plane and both pilots disappear, or a child being taken out of a burning building by a fireman and he disappears, or any other type of situation where life of some people depend on certain others. Thanos might've "disappeared" 50% of whole universe's population (and they were brought back) but I bet that by doing that he actually KILLED another 10-20% (and they, obviously, CANNOT be brought back).
And also the fact that some of those blipped could have potentially pushed humanity forward in many ways, for example in finding key to unlimited and cheap power source? Or fighting hunger, or cure for cancer? What if the half that stays is made up of mostly non-specialized workers and bums? A villain who chooses whom they should kill strictly according to peoples' contribution to society makes much more sense (evil, ofc, but still more sense).
But yes, this is a fictional story and it doesn't bother me THAT much when I watch the movie.
AOT itself, the writer, and Hanji: Genocide is wrong and also literary evil
The fans: The complete dumbest.
