The Japanese snack industry has made mandatory for the product.
I ran out of words, sorry.
I am sure you did this before ?
ОтветитьI know in the US at least, they typically will put something like "product enlarged to show detail" on the packaging when they're shown bigger.
ОтветитьSo, we're all in agreement that this man is crazy, right?
Ответить27 Days until I arrive in Tokyo.
Ответить"Angles are too freaky to understand." is a wonderful takeaway from this. Mudan, would geometry be a kink too extreme that you can't handle?
ОтветитьSir, the dog ate my essay
ОтветитьI miss those little chocolate biscuits like mini trees or mushrooms.
ОтветитьMythbuster mudan
ОтветитьIt fiiittssss
Day 37 of asking Mudan to host a huge battle royale irl
NoiCe
Ответить*actual size may vary
ОтветитьReport: It seems that the Japanese snack companies do not want to be accused of misleading customers. I'd wager it has something to do with wanting to build trust with consumers, so the packaging attempts to approximate the actual size of the snacks found within.
ОтветитьDay 218 of commenting to help with the algorithm :D
ОтветитьDay 73 of asking Mudan to complete every single prefecture in Japan and Day 56 of telling Mudan to improve his reading speed and study for the JLPT exam. 43 left to JLPT. OMG you're crazy! I guess they laws are to avoid what happened to McDonalds in the past where they got tons of lawsuits for false advertisement and I think Japan is doing the right thing.
ОтветитьAlways nice to see mudan upload
ОтветитьThese are the investigations we need, we want answers!
ОтветитьI'm not 100% sure why, but I know it's also common to see "写真はイメージです" (the photo is an image) on packaging as well. This is probably for companies to protect themselves in case anyone does want to argue that they're breaking the rule (if there is one)
ОтветитьI'm pretty damn picky and pedantic about stuff, but I think Mudan is even worse 😱. They were close enough to the size of the picture. As for the 10+ word essay; I'm pretty sure it's so customer's don't feel like they've been cheated by the product being falsely represented on the packaging. (All good essays start with "I'm pretty sure")
ОтветитьDid not know about this but I like it.
I think i recall a couple times as a kid being disappointed that something was so different from the packaging, as an adult we just come to expect it.
I mean fuck the angles lol. I think the most impressive thing is products look as they are pictured cause that often does not look as it does in Europe or America for a lot of products...
Ответитьcopium
Ответитьnot gonna lie, that was actually pretty interesting to discover. i wouldn't mind a sequal in maybe a month or so.
ОтветитьI studied advertising and marketing at uni and honestly it was mostly a degree on how to lie/trick people into buying stuff they don't need (why I didn't make it a career) so if Japan want to be more upfront and honest about products I think that's a win 🤷♀️
ОтветитьEssay: Trying to keep everyone honest, makes Japan orderly. This sentence is totally not here to pan the rest of the "essay" to get to 10 words.
ОтветитьNice investigator work, and yeah, I've seen this from time to time with food and stuff, but thanks for thinking about us consumers, Conan um I mean Mudan
ОтветитьThis video just proves Mudan will do anything to avoid giving something a perfect score
Ответитьi heard a guy once sued a snack company because the snack they where eating didnt match the size in the picture, and he won. So from then on all snack companies were scared of being sued so they made the effort to make all pictures on the package match the actual snack size.
ОтветитьMudan could dress up as Vash (the Trigun guy) for Halloween!!
ОтветитьNitpicking for sure.
ОтветитьTry bouldering, bowling and build Gundam
ОтветитьMudan is doing Nobel Peace Prize work.
ОтветитьDay 180 of commenting to help Mudan with the algorithm.
ОтветитьThey are close enough! I think this was an excuse for you to buy and eat snacks LOL.
ОтветитьWhy this matters :
ten words, or a document... er a ten word essay
Done
Day 19 of asking Mudan to meet with Chiitan Japan's crazy mascot!!!
Alright everyone it's essay time:
While the law about sizing of products on packing in Japan may seem kinda overkill, it's propose probably not only benefits the customer but also the company and Japan's reputation as well.
Over the years countries, especially America, have over exaggerated their products on their packaging making customers think that what they're getting is maybe a 10/10 quality for price. Yet in reality the actual product is like 2/3rds smaller than on the packaging, this leaving consumers kinda disappointed. This disappointment if regular can actually alter a person's expectations when buying other products as well, expecting a lot less than what is shown on the packaging. Additionally you could argue that the colour of certain foods, let's take American fruit loops, alter the amount of dye being used in their food; this is seen exceptionally well when compared to Canadian fruit loops.
So why does this matter in Japan? I can only assume this law exists and is so heavily enforced because of Japan's social cultures.
When you think of japan the first thing that usually comes to mind is how safe it is. If you lose ur wallet at the train station, you can probably expect to get it back with the same amount of cash inside. This social standard of trust is something that makes Japan so iconic and probably why laws like this exist. From a marketing standpoint customers can trust products from the get go.
Tldr: the law probably exists because of Japan's social norms/culture
wait, is there spongebob ice cream in japan?
ОтветитьJudging by how other Japanese businesses work and how they have basically "agreements" like the agreement in the 90's to not make cars more powerful that 280 horsepowers, maybe this is the same? Like someone at some point gathered the biggest food makers and they agreed on this "making food the same size on the packaging" and it went on ever since? Dunno, I'm just theorizing.
Ответить"it fits" that what she said 😔
Ответитьday 248 of watching mudan everyday
Ответить10 words:
If you are using real photos, the size must match.
There's keihin-hyouji-hou 景品表示法 (Handbook of the Household Goods Quality Labeling Act), but it's not a must thing, it's more like a maker's common effort.
ОтветитьI feel like you've nitpicked all of them. If they're smaller or bigger 10% who cares lol
Ответить"inconclusive... angles are too freaky to understand" --- such a mood, and i'm not even sure why
ОтветитьSave the planet. Eat Plastic.
ОтветитьMaybe there's an allowable 5% error in the image sizing? Food also shrinks when colder? idk lol
Ответитьit matters because Japanese snacks are snacks in Japan snacking Japan snacks, Japanese snacks Japan, Japan snacks.
ОтветитьIm going to say they all were pretty much the same size.
Ответить
