Love the car! My wife just got the exact same one but with the white exterior. Same wheels too. I don't think the wheels were a MFG mistake! I don't think they make many mistakes at that plant!

The wheels were probably swapped by the dealer from another unit where the customer wanted black wheels.

Long time Toyota enthusiast. I still drive a 2007 Tacoma TRD Sport that I bought new. My wife really likes the new 550 but we needed something bigger and safer for this coming winter. Honestly this video convinced us to visit the Lexus dealer to test drive the 2023 GX 460. After driving a few different trims we decided on the pearl white, black interior, performance plus w/ sport package. Dealer was offering $8000 off msrp (Oct 2023) and we got what we needed for our trade in. First time buying Lexus and it was an ideal experience. So far we are loving the 460. Feels like we bought something that could survive the apocalypse or like getting a 2014 FJ before they were gone.

For that price it's a deal. In all middle eastern countries you can only get a base model of Prado (maybe with a 2nd tier quality leather seats) for $55K while it has no bells and whistles, just a mechanical car, no good sound proofing as the lexus. Most probably the dealers in the middle east get it for no more than $35K and they make astronomical numbers out of each car because of the demand.

Bought 2023 GX. Best Suv ever. Only knock is the premium gas guzzler. I know it is a v8 so i knew what i was getting into.

My dad just got one of these. GX460 Premium trim, captains chairs, Mark Levingson sound system, etc…. $8000 OFF MSRP. The dealer threw in the original window sticker which had the markup originally attached onto it which they ripped off which I thought was funny. So he was able to get it $8,000 off factory MSRP. I confirmed it on the Lexus website to make sure the dealer wasn’t doing anything funny. Great vehicle. Funny thing is, we were originally looking for a pre owned one. The brand new one actually ended up being a better deal.

Just picked up my 2023 GX 460 yesterday on a fluke before I found your channel.
After watching this vid I feel even more blessed. The salesman kept telling me the GX 460 was the best but hearing that from you really seals the deal. Only thing is I did get the Luxury. Not a mechanic, so I need to do some more googling to make sense of the difference. However, I drove my new “Cloud” home (100 miles) and I told my sales person this morning that it was the smoothest ride of my life. Unbelievably, I didn’t even feel the cattle guards in the road.

I bought in the Feb 2023> 2021 Sequoia Platinum on 5.7 V8, the last sequoia on V8, and gigantic third row, and overall cargo space, planning to baby it, and keep it for many years.. Also bought a best combo, blizzard pearl white, on redrock leather.. To all the people > these cars, if you a fan and have money, get them while they last.. They will not make em like this anymore..

Just traded in our 2010 GX460 for a 2023 Premium Plus Caviar with black interior with Levinson for $10k off sticker! Now is the time to buy one they’re trying to move them before the new year! Paid $55k and got $16k for the trade. Infotainment was a huge upgrade, Levinson is out of this world, and I'm hoping the Nuluxe holds up better than the leather did.

Great video and congratulations on the purchase. My wife and I have a 2022 GX 460 and much like you said it is the best cruising vehicle we have ever owned. We have taken a trip from central Texas where we live to Arizona, we have done a trip to Tennessee,and getting ready to take one to Florida in a couple weeks, and honestly it drives better than any vehicle we’ve ever owned including any car except for the LS 460 which is our other vehicle. Lexus is king.

For a 22 year old fan of the prado kakadu which is not available in the states.This definitely replaces that.Tho i'm looking for a second hand because 60k and above aint in my budget😅

Your videos are reigniting my Lexus obsession and I find you nail exactly the reasons why I have always loved this brand- especially with this car. Because of your video we drove one yesterday. We have an 11' LX570 that we absolutely love. Its just now beginning to show its age with 127K on the ODO. I still like the way the LX drives over this GX (Its a softer ride). My wife loved the interior & handling of the GX. We are still up in the air on what to do. We also recently crammed 8 adults into the LX out to eat on a very snowy road in the mountains of Colorado last week. I don't know if we will have have that option again without taking two vehicles. UGH. Any suggestions?

It angers me to no end that all the luxury car manufacturers have gone away from refined luxury in the pursuit of sportiness and cost saving that many car reviewers (in particular those in the mainstream) seem to want, even though their customers may not. My wife just got the Palisade Calligraphy as her car as she liked it better than the GX460, but I really loved that car. (She unfortunately gets the big family car and I get the daily driver, so it is not in the cards for me.) I really wish they made a V6 NX or RX with that same level of refinement!

We would get one but we just can’t get over the swing out rear door , I believe it would be a pain in the ……well you know

Josh, beautiful 2023 GX460 but wheels not a mistake. 2023 premium comes with 18’ black wheels. Premium plus comes with 18’ silver wheels. Sports Design comes with 19’ black wheels. Luxury comes with 19’ silver wheels.

I just traded in our Q7 premium plus for this 2023 GX460 and its only been two weeks but we are extremely happy, its our 5th Lexus. We brought the premium version in Black but we got the Black wheels. It drives great and we still have an LX460 that we love. We payed $55K plus tax and it had 10 miles on it.

I completely agree that Lexus should have stuck with comfort and luxury they were known for - I've driven most of the models and generations and prefer the late 90s early 2000s seats over all their seats since... I have had to trade so many times because once I start driving it long distance the seats just don't have the comfort of the old ones. I have not been able to drive the 460 yet, but I think I might add it to my short list. I normally opt for an ES, but the 2013-2018 seats ruined it for me. The newest one is pretty good, but still more feedback from the road than i'd like - maybe just needs more couch like cushion in the seat instead to fix the problem.

I wanted this car for a long time....but when I test drove one, I was not impressed. Its felt heavy, slow, and rides kindda high. I love my RX and plan to just keep that. It rides a little more sportier, lighter, while also having nicer quality seats and interior. And you just slide in and out so effortlessly.

I 100% agreed Josh that the GX is one of if not the best Lexus made today… My favorite GX is are from 2018 to 2023 and my ultimate favorites are the 2022 and 2023… Excellent video!

Hello, all! Regarding the silver wheels, it was brought to my attention after the fact that these are actually standard equipment on the Premium and Premium Plus. The dark wheels are a no-cost option that the dealer can choose to select and for whatever reason appears in the builder online. So NO, the dealer did not swap anything and we had this vehicle reserved from the time it left Japan so it could not be altered (our Lexus dealer doesn’t do that anyhow). Further, if ANY dealer were to do a wheel swap on a new vehicle, they are legally required to include an addendum that lists any aftermarket equipment. So you see that on 4Runners where the dealer has swapped the standard wheels for TRD Pro wheels, for example.
