Amazing Petroglyphs in Gold Butte National Monument

There's a lot to see and do in Gold Butte National Monument. This 300,000 acre national monument rewards the adventurous and curious. We didn't do much research before we set off to explore so we were amazed when we found this incredible area full of petroglyphs!

We have seen quite a few petroglyphs along our travels, but the petroglyphs in Gold Butte National Monument were among the more impressive! As we walked and climbed around the amazing, colorful rocky landscape, we were in awe by the sheer number of petroglyphs on the boulders. And we noticed quite a few carvings that were unique and unlike any we'd seen before.

We had this interesting, beautiful pocket of history all to ourselves so we really enjoyed the hunt and taking the time to appreciate the art and history before us. Discovering these petroglyphs in Gold Butte National Monument was a magical desert adventure!
