Before russia's invasion to Ukraine, I also used to love dostoevsky. What russia has done to Ukraine (and it has been doing this to my people and other nations for centuries - occupation, appropriation of culture, land, natural resources, forced relocation of peoples, famines and other atrocities) has pushed me to re-evaluate my attitude towards this fucking empire, to research the true history of my country and russia, and to rethink my attitude towards russian writers, including dostoevsky. When I was reading it, I did not understand why it left such a depressing impression. Now I understand. He really is a depressive chauvinist. For me, to support russia in any form is to support its crimes. There are wonderful people there, just like in any country. But they are an exception. From faraway America, this evil empire may not look that monstrous. Come to Ukraine, especially to the eastern regions, where russia has ruthlessly destroyed entire cities, and you will see who the dostoevskys have fed.

About flash card apps (step 4): Memrise changed their format, so it's no longer a good place to make flashcards. However, I found another one that I like a lot, which is ⭐Quizlet. There is also a free version that works great. It's actually a lot easier to use than Memrise as well... So try that 👍🏼
