There are a lot of things to say about this PS5 Pro...

Console Users: a handful of generalized graphic options to toggle; too much.
PC Users: an entire menu of specialized graphic options; not enough.

I have a super high end QD-OLED so I’m tempted to get the Pro (I just bought the slim so I can exchange) but I STILL know I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. If it’s hard to tell even side by side, my god your brain would never know by itself. You would have to be a super spec snob to pay $300 extra to put your eyes up to the screen for a second and point out some lines and reflections. I feel like I should future proof and get the best but ugh I can’t decide, I doubt I would ever notice.

"as low as 60 fps" LMFAO. Just 10 years ago we were hoping for that. I'm not a pc gamer, but I'm an oldschool gamer who just always wanted 60fps at 1080p (as opposed to 30fps). We got 60fps at 1080p with consoles, then 4k came around. 60fps for gaming in the sweet spot and that'll never change. I've tried 120hz and it's great and all for fast-paced games likes shooters, but am still more than happy playing at 60fps...hell, I still even play some games in quality mode at 30fps quality mode for the theatrical aspect. The fact that we're at a point with 4k with stable 60fps is mindblowing to me and I love it.

Absolutely AWFUL product - 4 years after XSX/PS5, the pro is worth £400-450 and the base consoles £300-350

Honestly if your getting a PS5 and your not "well off" but you do have the extra Money to buy the PS5 Pro, Get a new Display a really nice one with that extra cash maybe even throw in a nice audio system and you'll have a great home theatre alongside your PS5

I bought a PS5 Pro, I stalled 1 game out of box, Overwatch 2. Game/PS5 Pro crashed and didn't restart. Had to turn it back on again. Happened in every game I tested after. How did this pass QA?

Other than some games and probably longer online support, there's really no reason to get anything newer than a ps4 pro.

I know you cant just use a USB stick to transfer PS5 saves,but wasn't TRANSFER from one PS5 to a PS5 pro does just that? it transfer all accounts, settings, photo and video, and PS5 saves all in one go.

Nothing beats gaming PC’s but that’s Cap 🧢 If you have a portal like me you can take your PlayStation portable also with the new update you can stream games from their premium service without the portal having to turn your PlayStation on! that’s cap you can’t take it portable

The $700 price is ridiculous but at least those who already own the disc drive and vertical stand don’t have to pay another $100+ more

I just bought one, and I am going to return it. This makes me wish Valve would create another Steam Machine to be a companion for the steam deck.

Anti aliasing always been a issue to the original ps5 for some whatever reason it shouldn't have a problem getting smooth edges and lines. But why are they not fixing it??? lazy DEVS. The ps5 should not have a problem with anti aliasing.

I sell video games for a living and during a move to a different state I got a ps4 pro to replace my dying ps4 slim. It was a great deal, just had to fix it up a bit. Didn’t think about backing up my save files because all of my saves have been in the cloud. Since the price increase of the ps4 subscription, I decided to stop it before the move. So, I plug in my ps4 pro wanting to finally get to level 100 in Tetris Effect after my move… I notice I’m at level 1 again. I’m like “ah, I forgot to transfer my save file over, no big deal, it’s in the cloud. I’ll just download the 500 kbps file.” Then I get hit with “you need to be a ps+ member to download your save files.” I instantly, and immediately became a steam deck/PC gamer after that. You can play online with friend, you can move save field, remote play, share play, etc. FOR FREE. Why are we getting charged for things we’re already paying for with our regular internet? Just to play on a console where most of its exclusives end up on steam in 6 months???

The performance pro has the same graphical settings as fidelity mode on the base ps5. Fidelity pro has more ray tracing settings.

Am I the only one that bought a PS5 just to have an upgraded PS4 and not because of ray tracing or graphical updates? Literally all the PS4 needed was a monster CPU, there was nothing else needed.

I paid 180 for 2 tb add on so I don't think it's all that bad. Def should have the disc drive included though. So maybe 100 cheaper. It's 2024 nothing is cheap anymore.

If this was $500 and the OG PS5 was now, say, $300 then this would be more worth it. Pair that with a disc drive, stand, and 48 gbps HDMI, then this would actually be a recommendation. As is, it’s too much for too little. If more games saw a doubling in frame rate for their performance and quality modes like RE7, I would be more enticed.

I just bought one and although I didn’t need it , I wanted the best tech out there for the platform. If you have extra money and play your PlayStation religiously then I’d say get it. Do what makes u happy .

I got myself a PS5 Pro the day they came out, I was actually surprised I was able to just walk in a store and buy one. Anyway, I jumped to it from a launch PS4 and I’m very happy with it. I had thought about just getting a slim but I decided to go with the Pro for future proofing essentially. The console generations overlap more today than they ever have, there is legitimately no good reason to get even a PS5 if you have a base PS4 that works, it still plays almost all of the games out right now. It’s. It the best experience, but if you’re a casual gamer that is really all you need. Even better if you’ve got a Pro. If I can get 8-10 years out of the this PS5 Pro like I did my PS4, I’ll be happy. The way things are going, I think I can even surpass that. We’ll see.
