Kit issue is, I believe down to supplier. Macron no longer being used.
ОтветитьThat silver medal would be amazing!!
ОтветитьScaffolding costs lots of money to set up and less to take down. Renting it in between is relatively cheap. The 'loss' would have been realized if it had been used for the original period. It should be marginally profitable used to the end of the 24-25 season and moreso beyond. Edit: With Premiership ambitions and not 'makeweight' in there, Wrexham require a stadium of that size/quality. The Kop should be designed as one end of an extensible mega stadium. Personally, I see the student flats being rebuilt in time.
Ответитьcalled a lanyard
ОтветитьThe new Kop will be much bigger. My guess it’s going to be closer to 7500 to 10,000. Need to have a min of 20k seats to compete at the top level of L1 much less championship. Those extra $$ are critical for the level of players that we are chasing. Always from a league above. Why signings are taking so long. We aren’t targeting L1 players, it’s championship or prem players.
ОтветитьSubscribed! Would like to see the Racecourse grow within reason. I don't think it would be a good idea to build a new one. I remember going to Yankee Stadium before it got demolished and that was a historical field. I went to the new one a year later and it wasn't the same. I would hate that for the lifelong Wrexham fans and new fans alike.
ОтветитьI think the ribbon is called a “lanyard”.
Also, I would think they are redesigning it in a way that all non seating parts of the new kop are able to be built while the temp stand is in operation (incl offices and toilets) so that they can minimize the time without fans on that fourth side.
I enjoy the show. I think the final renovation should result in seating somewhere between 25-35,000. Long term that should be the most sustainable.
ОтветитьA medal really? Come on you reds!!!!
Ответитьreally looking forward to Vancouver, hope to meet you both there. Do you think it will sell out?
ОтветитьJust a comment on building a new stadium instead of renovating the old. The NY Yankees built a new stadium across the street from the old one. The old one was torn down to make a park. The new stadium feels generic and has lost that wonderful feeling & uniqueness the old stadium had. It is no longer where Babe Ruth played or where the Yankees won World Series. To me it looks like any number of major league baseball stadiums
ОтветитьSubscribed! Thanks for the chuckle brothers reference! 😂
ОтветитьI’d love to sign Louie Barry too. If we could get him and Arthur that would be a massive show of intent and set us up for the future. Be nice to add Leonard to the mix also.
ОтветитьOn Strikers: Mullin backed up by Marriott, [NEW SIGNING] backed up by Fletcher and Ollie. Loan out Bickers, Edwards, Waters and Dalby... or sold (we won't be retaining Waters or Dalby next summer).
ОтветитьWIth Wrexham's catchment area, I can easily see expanding the Racecourse to ~30K. It should be in two tiers around, so that if the pitch is improved sufficiently to support two teams, the women's team can play at the Racecourse with tickets sold on all four sides to the lower tier alone. I am confident from the odds and sods of details about the financing of the temp stand that with it in use until the stands component of the Kop is ready to begin being built, and with the sponsorship, that it will break-even or better.
ОтветитьThe amount of whining that takes place on social media platforms when people can’t easily get tickets to a Wrexham game is astonishing. And the vitriol against Parky if Wrexham loses two away games is remarkable. The fans may be loyal, but so fragile. Given all the trauma caused by a history of bad and duplicitous owners, I think all of North Wales could benefit from PTSD counselling and treatment. And the fan base should have a serious discussion about just how successful they want the team to be.
ОтветитьI don’t think many reds would ever entertain a stadium other than the Cae Ras.
A soulless, Lego stadium miles from town would kill that match day buzz and experience of meeting friends in town, couple of pints, walk to the ground, being greeted with those massive floodlights… None of that pre / post match routine for most fans would be possible with a modern remote ground
American fan here: they should never move away from the Racecourse location. I think Rob and Ryan get that.
What would local fans think of moving the Turf down towards Crispin Lane a bit and then shifting the pitch that direction, say 20 yards? That would allow them to use all the empty space behind the Kop and make the Tech End much larger. I think they could easily get over 30K if they did that. Or is that heresy?
Should keep the main stand and develop the other 3 like Fulham did it
ОтветитьLove the channel fellas, great content guaranteed.
Fab give away 👌 and as far as the redevelopment goes, whatever gets delivered I think everyone will agree it's going to be very very special 👌👍
Great podcast, looking forward to next season COYR
ОтветитьBullsh*t, North American fans want to go to games at The Racecourse, we are not open to a relocation out of town....the idea that we are dismissive of the history and the heritage is a bit insulting
ОтветитьQuestion from an uninformed fan. If an American were targeted and ultimately signed, how would he be received by fans? I imagine there are a number of quality Americans that would jump at the chance to play for the squad. Any rumblings of such a move?
ОтветитьLove your podcast! Thanks so much for your efforts.
Pardon me ahead of time for the ramble...
I agree with you when it comes to transfers, and would prefer an injection of high ceiling youth (e.g. Sibley, Diarra) that can grow into starting roles as the team moves up.
I think a 30,000 stadium is probably the right size, as unlike here in the States, the number of team choices for fans to follow is significantly higher near Wrexham. Moreover, the documentary creates a level of engagement with team that may not sustain without it.
Finally, wild idea... as Wrexham prepares to build a training ground and improve their academy, should they also leverage the Welsh presence in Argentina to create a satellite academy there?
Subscribed already, make it safe standing
ОтветитьThe temporary kop really has become the Bobby grant stand..here on loan ..temporary and end up staying longer than we want
ОтветитьLove the podcast, listen every week, I don’t want to leave the racecourse, been going there for 30 years, lots of memories and a lot of history to move it elsewhere
ОтветитьHi from Buffalo NY. My question may be hard to answer. But, with any future renovations, new builds, expansions, etc... what is the maximum seating that could be created in the existing home of Wrexham AFC? I understand the existing ground isn't big enough for a massive stadium. But I'm unfamiliar with how much room there is to grow beyond the pending new kop stand.
ОтветитьWrexham and the Racecourse are a marriage. The fans didn't save it from being a B&Q to later move to a soulless Lego ground next to the JCB factory. I think once the Kop and Wrexham Lager stand are done, the facilities will be infinitely better and 20-25K would suit us fine, outside of being an established premier league outfit. The temp kop eases ticket demand in the short term, I'd love to hear where we're at regarding a new training ground.
Another great pod fellas👍
Car Parks should be offsite so you can use the entire site for the Game Day experience in my opinion.
ОтветитьDefo don’t move location
ОтветитьI have been listening for the past year and just subscribed! Would love to have a medal here in Georgia.
ОтветитьThanks for all of your efforts in producing the pod! PS--Would love that medal. 🥈
Ответитьgood content lads keep it up. Build it to 25k, that will be plenty going forward
ОтветитьI would certainly object to a new ground entirely. Wrexham without the racecourse seems soulless like you guys have suggested.
ОтветитьAnd he's signed 😅 Arthur is our goalie 😉
ОтветитьIt would be devastating if the club moved out of the town , and it goes against Rob and Ryan’s love cot the town , love the podcast. And I’m a new subscriber!
ОтветитьTalking about the kit and pre-season, I still find it absolutely unbelievable we have only 3 announced pre-season games! I’m guessing with it being so late now we’ll be playing BCD friendlies again that’ll be sorted late!
ОтветитьWrexham will never leave the Race Course as the history of oldest international stadium tag line will be gone! Will never happen, as Rob n Ryan would rather go around and up build each stand every few seasons if they have to! And they probably will build two apartments into new stand for themselves too! Why not! They are going to build new hospitality boxes anyway, it's just a few more back rooms to add on. No one will begrudge them that!👍
ОтветитьSubscribed.. would love to see a larger kop end, but also don’t want to see the stadium outgrow the fan base
ОтветитьEpisode 177 contest
ОтветитьLet's go. Ready for the new season
ОтветитьSpend $250k to get promoted, I think every team would pay that!!! The stands were an amazing idea I'm glad they listened to me.
ОтветитьOn strikers, Palmer was playing well end of last season. He often distributes the ball brilliantly and when 100% healthy, having he and Mullin on the pitch has been very productive. JMO, I would continue that duo until it proves ineffective, bringing Fletcher in around the 75th minute. With the existing wingers and midfielders we have, Wrexam fields a formidable offense.
Also, having a season of practice and play behind them, the current group should more often play to their potential.
Sounds worrying to me, word on the block the big hollywood stars are getting cold feet
ОтветитьI’m a big fan of the show I will be going to the game in Vancouver BC with front row seats behind the wrexham bench.
ОтветитьGet Ben Tosa back
