Planning to visit in December. Do we need a permit for this ? is the water temp okay to take a plunge in December. What will the temps over there in December

Been going there since the 80s. Back then there was a diversion dam and sluice that ran water downstream to Child’s power plant. I can’t remember what year they removed all that and restored the creek, but it’s so much better now. Great area to backpack into, but watch your food storage or you will be sharing your grub with ringtail cats! One of my go to places when friends come from out of town.

I don't know how you guys arrived on the toilet bowl side of the creek. The actual trail should take you to the other side.

Can I get there ina regular car? Do I need a 4x4 vehicle

I have been there a couple of times the water is an awesome light blue color. I have been to both waterfalls the 4-5 mile hike bowl one and the by the road one further south.⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Some good advice cut the lining out of your swimsuit or it will feel like Emory cloth has sanded your inner thighs bloody!!!!!⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

Beautiful colors - the water is so relaxing!

I really like this hike, to bad the under water cave collapsed. It was fun diving under water and swimming into the cave.

I have hiked this path and went to the cave and bowl. I recommend not wearing swimm shorts with the netting still in them. It left me raw on the inside of my legs. Also wearing good hiking boots is a good idea because of all the sharp rocks on the hiking trail. Plus bringing plenty of water, sunblock, and food in a back pack is another good idea. I had the netting in my swim shorts still and vans on, ouuchh! 😖🏞️
