Williams; The Family and also C Street by Jeff Sharlet; Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence; Silent Spring by Rachel Carson; Richard Alter's translation of 'The Hebrew Bible', replete with Hebrew into English puns, word plays, vowel pointings possibilities, classic commentary, and his 'The Art of Bible Translation' which also has word choice, rhyme, syntax (word order) and dialect. Gotta take care of that shelf situation,lol. I'm always buying way more than I read, but that's kind of intentional. I like having a shelf full of books to browse for whatever I'm in the mood for. Plus Bible studies/reference materials are always nice to have on hand.


I've enjoyed Randy Alcorn's fiction but haven't read his non-fiction. I like his more allegorical stuff in particular, but you would probably like his Ollie Chandler books (Deadline, Dominion, Deception) which are mystery/suspense.
I also enjoy listening to Piper but haven't checked out his books yet. And while some Schaeffer is on my shelf I've only lightly browsed through it, not read much. I think he's supposed to be good on social issues and apologetics though, so that should be a good read.
