It upsets me when I find out what people really think of disabled people

I agree to some extent what does documentary but some people may not want the inclusion. I was forced to be mainstreamed and that’s not something I wanted I wanted to see people like myself and it was a culture shock for me being with people that were normal and it still bothers me to this day.

At age 10, I got diagnosed with Epilepsy and got taken away from my Family. It was mandatory that I lose the ability to be a Father, to stop any more of Me being created. When I turned legal Age, I was turned down by all colleges and universities for the safety of others. Instead I was classed Unemployable, put on Disability Income for Life, and sent to live in a Long Term Care Home.

You get to the 10 and 11 minute mark on this and it's Alice's story that always gets me. This kid people would say was disabled. She's Rh Negative, the traits of sometimes 6 fingers are one of ours and note the widows peak she has. She reminds me facially a little of myself. Perhaps she and I would have met had I been around back in the day.
This is what would have become of people like myself and Alice. Science and medicine not understanding people like us and saying we should be shut away from the world. There's still a lot that science and medicine doesn't understand about differences and genetic conditions but I saw this doco on the box the other night and in light of Covid it was interesting to rewatch it.
There's always one story or picture that affects you in some way and this is mine. I may not have 6 fingers but had I been in Alice's time and born, I would've been deformed and hidden away according to the rules of their time. It really makes you think that it wasn't THAT long ago in history.

This is interesting because as a kid, I didn’t think anything of it. Now I’m older and see other children’s media I’m grateful for mostly channels like CBBC for including children and presenters with disabilities and differences because I realise how important that must be for all children!

I'm a 42 year old female with a severe learning disability and ADHD. I still struggle with it today because mine is like a mask. People say not to let disabilities define us but it's hard not to cause I struggle every day with it. I get help from government so again I get judged and it affects dating.

The Government seems to forget on purpose that Tax Payers pay their wages. Why do we have to fight for human rights? They are not in charge of us as individuals and should do their blinking job! Thank you for this video. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. We are ALL good at something. ♥️

My friend who is partially blind told me about the Blind Prison Schools as she calls them. Children taken away from their loving parents and placed in these schools against there will. That is abuse. Same with people they claim are disabled.

Our British Schools still mentally abuse children that learn differently. Our children are not race horses. They failed to teach my daughter to read, write and spell. Too much stupid Maths, instead of English. 9 Million illiterate adults in the UK. Many prisoners cannot read, 50 percent are Dyslexic. Even the SENCO teacher agreed with me that children need to learn to read, write and spell before learning other subjects.

Teach our children to read and stop waisting money on grooming 3 year olds and teaching them about S-x. We need to teach children to be safe, so they actually get to play and be a child.

Swansea University is brainwashing Students into Student Prostitution. Taking the Stigma out of Prostitution, disgusting. The Lottery funded them to promote high wages and less hours as a S-x Worker. Claiming they can pay for education this way. It seems to me with all the money wasted on S-x Education for 3 years olds that our Governments want our children to join the S-x Trade.

Keep fighting. The pen and voice is mightier than the sword! Bravo to all freedom fighters. ♥️♥️♥️

After Adam and Eve disobeyed God nobody is perfect in the eyes of God. That is why God sent his son Jesus to be put to death on the cross for us. This was not the end. Jesus rose again and conquered the grave.

So true..... UK hates disabled people! I 100% can confirm that!

My respect for all the people that work with disabled people and for all people that do something for others in need!
I struggle to put food on the table every single day and currently care for a severely disabled person for free, because the UK's gov is too busy sending money and weapons to the Ukraine war.
Shame to all politicians and leaders from all countries! They are all a disgrace and bring shame to humanity!

It's so unfair that anyone with even a disability that wasn't an intellectual disability were wrongfully sectioned, even for being deaf or having a leg that didn't work properly could lead to this.
Even mentally disabled children and adults deserve to live a full and happy life.

Then there is another problem and that's society, even the UK welfare system is very hateful towards the long term sick and disabled.

I think education is the key here ,for adults & children .if s grandchild of mine were to ask about an obvious physical condition id like to think they'd ask me & that i d explain things ,maybe in simplified language .Not forgetting hidden 'additional needs ' eg autism ,learning disabilities,Last week he was interested in a boy who had Down's syndrome,i said there were certain cells & chemicals in his body that made him special .I wish id had a lot of things explained to me as a child . Everyone is special & has feelings ,some adults would do well to remember that too
