Yeah. Been waiting for this video 😍😍
ОтветитьLooking forward to a video on how you can save money by not getting unnecessary charge for tax
ОтветитьI know a guy on whatnot who has an Isabella quarter
ОтветитьGood luck with collecting these. I've started doing just this a few years ago and have accumulated 7 of the early types. Some of which were quite pricey but beautiful nonetheless. Again, good luck. I have a good feeling about this journey. Great video as always. As far as storing them in what folder ? I'm cheap and keep mine in a 2x2 (3 ring binder) so that I can add what I want, even if it happens to be a few of the same things. Just food for thought.
ОтветитьMy fav is the Texas centennial half dollar
ОтветитьLOL another set to go completionist on…? Lol I’m going after the few holes in my Arabian Nights BGS 8-8.5+ set
ОтветитьFor me i prefer to keep the highest grades in the type album not in comm. type album, good luck
ОтветитьI started collecting Silver Commemoratives last year..Slabs only. I have 12 now, the Oregon Trail was one of my first ones.
ОтветитьCool! I've been collecting commemoratives as well. They have some really nice designs. Just got the Illinois centennial Linclon one, and the Grant one is next. I hope to get all of them, but that will take years. I'd say keep your type set with the most pristine coins. I'm sure you will eventually find a Columbus in nicer condition you can trade out. Which is your favorite one you have so far?
ОтветитьI don't see anything wrong with stone man at all. Couldn't we say that about George Washington going against the British. Seems the same to me. Anyway nice coins and that will be a great set to finish
ОтветитьVery cool book, I would just keep the better Washington commemorative coin in your good set. You can always find another coin in better shape later. Take care Max and have a great weekend.
ОтветитьI’ve heard Dansco has started production again.
ОтветитьYour shelf looks a bit empty
.
Keep it in Us type set, can always update com half dollar later
ОтветитьIsn’t the missouri one, one of the high dollar rarest ones?
ОтветитьGreat to known they have type sets of the half dollars. I have been starting to collect them for the past year!👍🏼
ОтветитьIf I were to really re- kick-off my coin collecting hobby from back in the day (40 years ago), this is the set I'd try and assemble. Nice selection, well said, great vid. Very helpful.
ОтветитьI’m actually from Lynchburg Va and I found out not long ago about the commemorative half and I can’t wait to get one!
ОтветитьMy opinion is keep the modern, and not included in the comm type set, and put them in the type set. In the comm type set try to do the best you can to fill all the spots and then try upgrading as you go. Saying this because in my opinion i want to complete all of it if i could and if i have something twice like this it makes me wanna not have it because it reduces space for the other coins.
ОтветитьI historic coin doesn't bother me at all. Even if it's old Soviet Russia or Nazi Germany coins. I think that we can't deny history and facts. Wr should learn and grow from those experiences
ОтветитьAll the best with your collection!
ОтветитьI would keep one set the absolute best coins you can get .
ОтветитьAlthough I enjoy several designs from the classic US Commemoratives (with the Chartered Oak design being one of my favorites) I am leaning toward collecting those designs I like of current half dollar modern commemoratives. The Negro Leagues Commemorative Uncirculated Half Dollar has sold presently about 9.200, the Purple Half Unc Half dollar 12,700. Since 2014, sales of clad half dollar commemoratives have not exceeded 50,000 and most are below 20,000. I would not go running out to buy them all up because the series suffers from uneven quality of coin designs (American Legion and Boystwon featuring some ugly designs), demand is not high on secondary market for most, and the US Mint premium is high. But it is still an undervalued series (with the Gold uncs being quite rare although due to the premium to me as undervalued as the half dollar commems). Overall, I get commemorative coin designs I like much and for something I support --- investment potential is a tertiary factor.
ОтветитьKeep your nicer one in the US Type Set, fill this new one with what you have, and upgrade it as opportunities arise in the future! IMHO.
ОтветитьI would place the best commemorative coins in the commemorative set. The commemorative slots in the other album are pretty "whatever".
ОтветитьThank you very much. Nice nice video. Thanks
ОтветитьType sets are definitely my jam but damn do I really not like commemoratives. It’s nothing logically, I just don’t like them
ОтветитьDon't be uncomfortable about a coin because self-righteous people say you should be. Coins are history, and all of history is interesting. It would be refreshing to see people show off coins without a woke-sounding disclaimer about how horrible the coin is. I doubt many people assume you are some kind of a jerk because of a coin you have, probably they assume you are a coin collector!
ОтветитьHi, Are you still buying coin collections? I have a lot of coins want to sell my collection. Most are Canadian coins.
ОтветитьThis week, I told the guy at my local coin shop how I remember buying the Columbus half from him for $8 twenty years ago. He said he remembers almost no one wanting to buy them at $8 back then. Now, he only has a couple for $20.
ОтветитьI thought I bought this one, but I bought the 1982-Modern commemorative dansco type set. Well, looks like I’m a full that one up first until I can get the classic commemorative type book
ОтветитьIve been collecting the commemoratives for about a year and a half now. Im up to 19 of them now. Such a fun set to do!
ОтветитьHey Silverpicker, I had a quick question for you (hoping you read the comments people leave)... I quit coin roll hunting about 5 years ago but just started up again. My first 2 of 3 boxes of halves was a complete bust! The last box though... wow! I scored 4 silvers (two 65s that are in amazing condition) but what blew me away the most was out of that box, I scored 32 "s" coins, some of which are perfect (to my amateur eyes). My question, what do I do with the "s" coins? Or even the two 65s? Would you recommend getting stuff graded or just safely stored away? (obviously I have no idea how much it costs to get a coin graded)
Thanks!
Where did you get the coin book from the exact one
ОтветитьOregun, Oregun, please not Oregone. Coin collector Jim from Portland, OR.
ОтветитьHi, i just started collecting coins. I just wanted to ask, what do you call that transparent thing that you pull out in order to insert your coins? Thank you in advance!
ОтветитьI like the commem's a lot but a good few of them are too pricy for me! Gotta love that oregon trail tho.. spanish trail too. There's some nice ones for sure 😎👍
ОтветитьI just started collecting commemoratives too, old and new, however I’m doing it via slabbed coins vs an album.
