In some ways his drums pays homage to his peers such as Bonham, Ringo, Mitch Mitchell, Ginger Baker, Mick Fleetwood, Dave Clark and himself. As if he was saying goodbye.

I read for his studio tracks he was always on time, sober, energetic, and ready to work. It's what he really lived for. It's when he wasn't drumming the problems began.

Was Moon a good,technical drummer? Absolutely not. Was he the most unconventional drummer ever,who fit the Who perfectly? YES!

Whilst I can't really go with the whole Genius cult that seems to be very popular these days what I can say is that Moon was a spot-on drummer with amazing skills and, to be frank, he was the best of the best for that type of music.

I love how imperfect drum tracks used to be. And how non compressed they are. This sounds like a real human playing drums. Not every hit is on time, sometimes it’s a little rushed, sometimes a little dragging ever so slightly.

Rank him above Bonham because of the originality and creativity.
Bonham was technically more gifted but Moon innovated a completely unique and singular style

Its such a shame that he became such a solid time keeper but at the end of his life. Would have been so strange hearing him in the 80s with all the click tracks and electronic drums of that time period.
