I was just bluntly saying the word chaperone
Just so it shd be in the structure of examination
Beautifully explained about the role of APPROPRIATE CHAPERONE…thanks for giving us so much insight
Looking forward to work in NHS
Ur videos r lot helpful for PLAB 2
I will make sure to share it with my frnds … I don’t know why algorithm is not suggesting you.
Lots of love from India ❤
So important for people to know that it’s OK to be nervous/uncomfortable at first with these exams, but they are so necessary! As are self-exams! Self-exam led to catching testicular cancer very early and may have saved my life!
ОтветитьUp until about two weeks ago, I would have thought all these types of videos were “weird” and kind of “yech.” But as someone with male reproductive parts, we all really need be more in tune with these parts just as much as women are in touch with their bits. Well done. 👍
ОтветитьWould frenulum breve be commented on in this examination?
Ответитьexcellent Dr.Gill
ОтветитьHe,s not a female doctor.
ОтветитьSmall question: Why is there two different names for Epididymitus? It seems like there should only be one to not cause confusion.
ОтветитьVery informative, Thank you.
ОтветитьVery educational and respectfully explained.
But didn't you forget something?
Can u do a pelvic video exam
ОтветитьHow do you properly inspect a glans with phimosis? I know a man who can’t even see the pee hole fully.
ОтветитьHonestly i’ve always been afraid of genital exams, mainly because it just makes me uncomfortable, but this helped make me realise the importance of getting it checked
ОтветитьIt's really important for women and men to check if everything is alright down there.
ОтветитьNot even real footage yet age restricted video
Ответитьamazing
ОтветитьCan a woman doctor check the penis
Ответитьexcellent
ОтветитьIt’s really useful. Thanks a lot
ОтветитьAs a doctor, I was curious about how this was goind to unfold just because of the variety of plastic models.
But the reality is...... in the real life... it's never like this.
This is not a critique, it's just a statement, even a healthy man's scrotum moves itself manytimes per day and can me found in many different states. If you're a guy, take your clothes off on your bedroom and look down for 5 minutes, for example. Even without extimulation, it will move, it will look tighter, looser, with or without assimetry on the testicles. So please, don't freak out and think you're gonna die just because you watch this vid, it's more like a general guide.
(Again, this is not a critique, it's just a side commentary from another doc that performs this kind of exam often.)
This is ASMR!!!
ОтветитьES INCREÍBLE QUE EL EXAMEN SE HAGA CON UN MUÑECO Y NO CON UNA PERSONA EN VIVO!!!!!
Ответить"Pen torch" I said... A what torch... Until it hit me her means a flashlight.

ОтветитьInformative.
ОтветитьBeautiful doctor physical best 💯❤❤
ОтветитьBrilliant video! 😊
ОтветитьI have had Epididymitis recently and is very painful, i am now left with a Epididymal cyst on my testicle. My epididymis is on the bottom of my testicles and thats where i have the cyst. I had my local gp first who hadn't done a testicle exam before. She got a college in to do initial exam and i was asked if the other gp could learn. I was very happy to offer as they need to learn and I believe having a real person to examine is alot better than a plastic model. People need to loosen up about their genitals, we all have them. I had to have an ultrasound done and a urologist examined my testicles and penis. I then had a follow up scan a few weeks later and was examined by the specialist female nurse. I wasn't bothered about her gender as its her job, and i also wasn't bothered about the female ultrasound operator. I would offer myself to help the medical staff in exams as i am not bothered about being naked and it would greatly help with training.
ОтветитьIm in medical school and due to covid we were advised to watch these videos and ur soo much more educatieve then my teacher 😂
ОтветитьThanks from a med student preparing for finals
ОтветитьIs there a video on ED?
ОтветитьOooo
ОтветитьYou mentioned that "an appropriate chaperone" must be present during the male genital exam and you made an attempt to define "appropriate" (a medical student, nurse, family member, and so forth). I'd like to add that the gender of the chaperone also needs to be given high priority. I would seriously doubt that most males would want a female chaperone present to witness such an exam. However, it has been my experience that almost 100% of chaperones in clinics or offices are female. This gender disparity creates a unique problem for male patients. I would appreciate your comments about the gender of chaperones and the unique challenges it presents to male patients.
ОтветитьI find it curious that the penis that came with the prostate and rectal examination kit was intact, with a somewhat realistic retractable rubber foreskin, yet all the ones that came with the male genital examination kit are missing that part. One would think that it would be more useful for students to practice and have experience with both kinds of penis, intact and circumcised, but the kit only provides one kind. Not much of an issue for intact male students, since they have their own anatomy as reference, but wondering if it can be confusing to circ'd male students and female students that haven't been exposed to an intact penis before having to attend an intact patient for the first time.
ОтветитьHey doctor can a urologist see if you have damage or sçar tissue with this exam from a priapism? I went to a urologist who examined me with his hands and said im good
ОтветитьI found your female exam video so helpful. I’m 40 with major surgery of my female organs and no doctor has come CLOSE to explaining what you did to me in that shirt vid. I came here for the asmr only but these sensitive exams have taught me SO much ❤️ thank you. Realize you didn’t start this for the lay persons but as a doctor I hope you know you bring education and comfort to so many people other than just students ❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьHow old are you Dr. Gill?
ОтветитьYou have a very soothing voice :)
ОтветитьVery detailed video. Dr. Gill just earned a new follower
ОтветитьFrom my perspective, that of a male in my sixth decade of life, your videos are really appreciated. I have learned a lot and am becoming a better and more pro-active patient. Thank you. Stay safe.
Ответитьit's time to delete my browser history for the 3rd time !!!!
ОтветитьConsidering skin tones on medical models, I think that even more important than the inclusion perspective is the fact that different changes in anatomy or abnormalities in skin for example may appear different or be harder to spot on different skin tones. I'm not from the medical field, but I believe having more variation/diversity on models and volunteer patients allows for greater expertise in testing and examining differently sized, colored and formed bodies. It adds to medical equality. (And in that sense it is also a matter of inclusion).
ОтветитьExcellent as always Dr Gill
ОтветитьYou may be too young to remember this. Plus you're British, and this is an American story. But, I'll ask, anyway. Do you remember, or have you heard about the First Lady of the United States, Betty Ford, in 1974 being diagnosed with breast cancer? At that time, the word "breast" was either bleeped out, or edited out entirely, and nobody used the word "cancer" unless the deceased was dead.
But the press' tender sensibilities couldn't survive a First Lady of the U.S. having the intestinal fortitude (i.e. guts) to tell the truth. Betty Ford just went out, said she had breast cancer, and talked about the treatments (both surgical and pharmaceutical) she was receiving or was about to receive. She would never have put it this way, but I know she just figured, "Hey! I'm telling the truth. If you have a problem with truth are you really sure the job you're doing is the right fit for you?)
I actually haven't watched this video, yet. Sorry. It's just that, seeing your other videos, I doubt you'd shy away from the truth.
