In my recent interview with one of America’s most-loved (and loathed) radio talk show hosts, John Kobylt, aka also my husband, he talks about knowing from when he was a little kid that he was destined to do this. In fact, he says it’s all he can do (true, because he’s also not very handy).
All kidding aside, during our interview, John gets personal growing up in a Polish-speaking household, and his father captured by Nazis at a young age before he escaped. His parents were quiet, perhaps this is why he became
so boisterous, as Jay Leno one said. Whatever it is, John is half of the longest running talk team in the history of radio, The John and Ken Show, which ran for 36 years before Ken decided to step away from daily talk. Now John is flying solo with the John Kobylt Show, already proving to be a success with the audience, providing same content listeners have grown accustomed to from news to politics and a little in between.
In this clip, John talks about his early years, and being at the center of some of the most sensational headlines in news, dethroning two governors, the three-strikes law, Scott Peterson, OJ Simpson, and the Michael Jackson trials, earthquake and fire coverage from helicopters, and dozens of stories they have single-handedly turned into headline news. He says it’s an instinct, like when he was waving toilet paper in the air in disgust after the NJ governor decided to tax anything that wiped your a*s.
Anyone who is a fan, you must listen. Anyone wanting the inside scoop, you must listen, as I have lived this from the beginning, and here we are, three kids later. Please join us for our full interview on all video and audio platforms of #DeborahKobyltLIVE, and invite your friends, too. I’m your host, #DeborahZaraKobylt. Thanks for tuning in.
