Alleged Budget Padding Senator Abdul Ningi Returns To National Assembly After 10 Week Suspension

Senator Abdul Ningi (PDP, Bauchi Central) has resumed his duties at the National Assembly following a 10-week suspension.
Ningi was suspended on March 12, 2024, after he accused Senate leadership of fraudulently adding projects to the 2024 budget.
Senate officially reinstated Ningi on May 28, 2024, following a resolution passed during a plenary session. The motion for his recall was sponsored by Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro and co-sponsored by Deputy Minority Leader Olalere Oyewunmi and Minority Whip Osita Ngwu.
Upon his return, Senator Ningi took the floor to commend the Senate leadership.
