ОтветитьMatsimus: great video!. Please more on tank tactics!
As a former infantry soldier, I have heard of "the snake maneuver" and the "pincer movement," and as an anti tank gunner I know a little about prioritizing targets (in which order should tanks be engaged and by whom). I recall our Dutch Leopards used a technique called "sawing" - moving backward after firing, reload and then move forward to put another round downrange - when in a support fire position. Are these standard tactics throughout cavalry units, or was this a specific German (copied) tactic?
And how about the use of smoke when breaking contact? Does that not take your observation off the enemy? When do you use smoke.
Last but not least, since most Western forces have retired their Self Propelled Anti Aircraft Artillery Guns (SPAAGs), how must cavalry units operate when hostile air support aircraft are to target them? What defence have they got left (if any)?
Another topic I am quite interested in, is the use of anti- ATGW systems (like the Israeli Trophy). Do they mean the end of the threat of ATGWs?
Very much looking forward to your thoughts on these topics.
How much of these tactics were likely developed by the Germans in the second world war?
ОтветитьI'm really interested to know how different the tank tactics are between the west and Russia. Abrams tanks seem like they are aimed towards tank vs tank battles without He-Frag rounds and a lack of tank-infantry phones. T-72/T-90 seem like they are more of a infantry support tank.
ОтветитьWhy does the music remind me of M1TP2?
ОтветитьWow, I used to play the hell out of this game... LOAD SABOT... SABOT UP... ON THE WAY !!
Taking out Hind gunships at over 5000m with MPAT rounds and knocking out BMP's with 50cal SLAP....ahh the memories.
I figure it's possible World War III will break out in a couple of years. So I might as well learn as much about the military/war as possible.
ОтветитьAre there any official organisations that comprise of 2 or 3 tanks, and if so what are some tactics and maneuvers that the group may/can perform?
Writing a fictional webnovel as a hobby, so videos like these are extremely helpful. Keep'em coming, and thanks :).
Ah the days of training in Mojave trying to perfect the formations..
ОтветитьYou should ve kept the original M1tank platoon 2 vids. Hey were great. A shame sims kinda died.
ОтветитьThis is the same formation as the so called "finger four" that the Luftwaffe came up with during the Spanish Civil War and was later adopted by all air forces.
ОтветитьAnd then a drone takes out the entire column in one salvo.
ОтветитьMake a tank tactics video Warsaw pact tactics vs nato tactics.
Platoon up to company to battalion differences.
Can't help feeling that this has no place in 21st century warfare.
Ответитьwhats the game name?
ОтветитьThat t-72 was Czech?
ОтветитьJust subscribed to your channel, looks great!
What on earth brought you to Canada? Certainly not our winters!
I have to dislike only because it seems low effort - could you confirm that you in part made this video yourself, or did you just take an existing video and upload it? if you made this then that's fine and I'll remove the dislike
ОтветитьInteresting vid. One thing I am really curious about is the differences between tank doctrine between NATO and Warsaw Pact in the 1960's and 1970's. I know you probably don't have time to do that but if you ever do get the time you can count on a thumbs up from me.
Ответитьthere's a couple tank stories i'm working on and you're helpful
ОтветитьI rmemeber these from Armored Fist 3.
ОтветитьYour videos lack diagrams on a battle field map.
Ответитьwhat game
ОтветитьLove to see how Russian and Chinese tactics work and a video PLEASE on combined arms
ОтветитьI love tanks and military tactics
ОтветитьTank platoon are consisted of four tanks, The platoon is divided into two sections with two in each. One is led by the platoon leader and the other is led by the platoon sergeant. The other two tanks are wingman. Wing man will stop, move and shoot then their section leader does..
The line formations is when the tanks move in a horizontal line towards the enemy, they do this when provided with overwatch by another element (other tanks and jets) or when the platoon assaults enemy positions.
The wedge is when the tanks move in a finger formation, this has good fire power on the front and flanks, is used when going over flat or rolling terrain and is provided overwatch. (Other tanks and jets).
The V formation provides excellent protection and control but limits fire tot he front, this formation is used when terrain restricts movement or when overwatch is within the platoon is required.
The echelon formation provides excellent fire power to the front and to one flank, it is used to screen an exposed flank of the platoon or of a larger moving force.
The column formation provides excellent control and fire to the flanks but permits less fire to the front, this formation is used when speed is critical, or the platoon is moving through restrictive terrain on a specific route or when enemy contact is not likely.
The Staggered column formation is a modified column formation with one section leading and one trailing behind to provide overwatch, the staggered column gives good fire to the front and flanks. Used when speed is critical or there is a small area for lateral dispersion. Or when enemy contact is possible.
The tank platoon makes contact with enemy the tank platoon leader usually executes a battle drill, they provide virtually automatic responses to situations which is vital to the platoons safety or to move the platoon to an advantage over the enemy. Allows the platoon to change direction rapidly.
Matsimus, do you play only WarTunder? Have you played World of Tanks?
ОтветитьWhat is the difference between the band wedge formation
Ответитьthe intro with the spartan scene is so freaking badass. what's the song and how did you make
the scene!!! I want to start my fitness page and want something like that style
Good demonstration. What game is this?
ОтветитьAs I am writing a fanfiction of my favorite anime show which re-cast the main hero (a pianist) as not just a musician but also an ROTC graduate in an alternate Japan, still US-aligned but with armed forces not self defense forces this video is very helpful.
By the way any ideas about how tanks operated in urban warfare?
Aspiring british tank officer here. Could you cover the chally 2 in more detail. Cheers
ОтветитьSyria and Iraqi wars almost ended the MBTs' career. Today they can only be used with infantry together, otherwise it is easy prey in cities.
ОтветитьI read the Army's Tank & Mechanized Infantry 140+ page manual for class and seeing the formations, tactics, etc. animated is awesome.
ОтветитьAudio ain't too good
ОтветитьGreat info, even four years on. Thanks!
ОтветитьHey did this video come back?
ОтветитьOmg
Ответитьarmy video games?
Ответитьpoor tactics
ОтветитьLove steel beast.
ОтветитьVery well stolen from M1 Tank Platoon 2!
ОтветитьThanks for the cool video. I got my makarov pistol issued today (am not american)
Ответить"[...] As Elements of the Eight Armoured Tank Corps streamed down the desert during Operation Big Shield [...]"
love the tune, gave me nostalgia from European Air War times
Mmm not sure about the bypass portion. You could bypass small enemy elements if theyre in a pocket (lets say far away in the woods in that video)
ОтветитьAnd they still couldn't beat desert shepherds
