Brilliant video. I did this climb in April 2024, it’s an absolute beast and I had to stop and push a few times. I bet any of my strong cycling mates beer for a year if they could ride the whole thing without stopping 😀🙏
ОтветитьIncredible. The ride, the effort, the scenery, the skies and the climb! My lungs and legs were hurting in sympathy at the 25-31% sections. Chapeau sir
ОтветитьVery cool Video. Thank you very much for the impressions
ОтветитьEven tho Mike was in 7th hell there, he looks miraculously great (at the end) for the fact he's rode 10ml and done 2k of climbing (a think it was) - guys incredible 💪 😎
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьAlways a good day when ColCollective drops a new video
ОтветитьWhat gearing was you using mike? What a sickening climb 😂
ОтветитьAwesome and inspiring video as always Mike, thanks for sharing with us these amazing climbs!
ОтветитьThank you very much Mike ,great job,( i am from Indonesia)
ОтветитьGreat job! Few have done this climb and it is great to give it the notoriety it deserves. It is one of the hardest climbs in the world I have ever done and I hope that other's get the opportunity to travel to the Canary Islands and take on this beast.
ОтветитьTwo things I learned from this video; 1. Never do this climb and 2. Schedule a vacation in La Palma.
ОтветитьComplètement malade! 🙂Incredible images, Merci Mike Goaty
ОтветитьWell done Mike !! 👏👏👏
I've been living on this wonderful island for five years, but I've never ridden the ascent of Llano de las Ánimas, one of those where you really stake your soul. 😵💫
Mike's choice of a gravel bike was excellent for both the metric development of the ratios and the width of the tyres., but given the lethal gradients a MTB would also have been suitable. 🚲😉
In any case, the island offers even more brutal ascents in certain sections, albeit shorter ones. El Tablado, Las Cabezadas, are two of the steepest rough concrete climbs, with peaks of over 30% (impossible to asphalt them, too narrow and steep). 😲
Excellent commentary, detail and climb description of a mind blowing ride and journey. Speedy recovery.
Ответить🙌 ❤ 💣
ОтветитьAmazing and inspiring video, Mike. Congrats on conquering this tough climb.
ОтветитьThanks! I was just about to get onto the trainer for another round of (virtual) climbing. Had to postpone when I saw that you shared a new video! Now, I'm even more motivated! And NO, I wouldn't be able to do 31%, I'd fall off backwards.
ОтветитьAbsolutely epic video - thanks for creating and sharing!
ОтветитьAwesome video, as ever!
Thanks for bringing these amazing places through beautiful cinematography to us!
😮 congratulation riding that spot !, but the ketones surely will not help you :-))
Ответитьbike Computer inaccuracy is always annoying !!
ОтветитьAmazing, La Palma is a very special place. I thought Roque De Los Muchachos was tough! This looks like another level 😮
ОтветитьThere was one scene where you could really see how steep this climb is. Looked like a 65* angle.
Unreal and a stellar effort Mike !
Cool that you are doing some of the more niche, yet more extreme climbs. Pjamm has a great data base on insane stuff like this!
ОтветитьMike - your videos have always had a special energy, a reverence for the place and for the sport of cycling. Many years on since watching your first video, it's great to see you still making these masterpieces. Bravo Mike. Keep doing your awesome thing, it's great. Edit: Did you stay at the top that night after the climb? No way you descended in the dark. The night sky from the summit...I hope you laid there for hours watching it without getting too cold.
ОтветитьR-E-S-P-E-C-T!
ОтветитьChapeau fella ! Getting your breath back on 15% HARDCORE !
ОтветитьAbsoluetly Insane Mike , you absolute Lunatic HAHA Chapeau ,How did you get back down ?Helicopter?
Ответить'you will end up in florida' -- Bro is really overestimating my swimming ability
ОтветитьThanks, so much inspiration
ОтветитьMike you are a Beast! and The G.O.A.T! Many thanks for another fabulous video, so much work in it, what a piece of art, your poetic soul in every picture. You even make this particular area ok....aside from the coast, it does look like an environmental disaster! I hope you are feeling better, best wishes of health, sending you vibes of strength.
Take care, and thank you again.
Well done mate. Great video. Exceptional production quality. And of course, not too shabby riding!
ОтветитьBeautiful vid Mike.
Love this stuff.
Liking the gravel bike Mike. What model is that ? Great vid by the way
ОтветитьThanks for showing us this amazing climb
ОтветитьWell done Mike, every time I see that concrete surface it means one thing: suffering. What a ride and journey - the edit is epic too, doing that solo was incredible! 🙌
ОтветитьWould an oxygen mask help?
ОтветитьAmazing! Did you ride back down with new brake pads? It looked crazy hard going up, but coming back down would scare the heck out of me.
ОтветитьUgh! I'm tired and tired and tired. My sofa is completely overheated just for watching you. This hill is for an out-of-body experience. Congratulations Mike! Fantastic!!!
ОтветитьThat is one brutal animal! Hats off for taking on the challenge and completing it. I don’t think this will end up on my to-do list 😉
ОтветитьAs always, best cycling content on yt. Thanks Mike
ОтветитьHi Mike. Great video once again. Quick question: I see you have a 2x set up on your Cannondale. Is this a preference over a 1x setup and if so what is your reasoning. Thanks.
ОтветитьSuperb Video on all fronts
Ответитьthink id be taking my 14 year old bike with the triple on the front for that
ОтветитьBad ass climb!
ОтветитьWish i would ride this someday, looks brutal. Thanks for another amazing video
ОтветитьWhat a climb!
Having followed in your Pyrenean footsteps quite a few times as you know this one leaves me speechless.
Pic du Midi and Refuge de la Gliere were hard enough - not sure i am brave or good enough to follpw you here.....lol.
Fantastic, what a climb.
ОтветитьThis was crazinness Mike! They shot up to 30%, it was essential to adapt a more appropriate geometry of the gravel style frame. The beautiful island, beautiful places with its astronomical viewpoints and its steep caves by Mother Nature;)
