I think Rogue One is the best thing that came out out of Disney, by far! It's a proper space adventure, and it's not cheese af. Vader could have been used a bit more, why not? but the rest of the film was class. Looks colourful yet a bit darkish too.

Growing up I was never a fan of Star Wars. I thought it was an okay series at best. Rogue One was the first time I thought a Star Wars movie was great and it made me go back and enjoy rewatching the other movies. Still hate the sequel movies tho

The thing that sucks about Rogue One, is that it proves Disney is actually capable of making great Star Wars movies... they just choose not to.

There needs to be the Gareth Edwards Cut of Rogue One. We need the complete and original vision.

I grew up loving Star Wars, everything they're putting out now just plain sucks. This is what happens when you give something good to woke ass Disney.

If any movie was a flawed masterpiece, it is this one. May be flawed but still a masterpiece. Honestly it is, in my opinion, the best of the new film content.

The person who does the voice in this video is a TOTAL asshole.

When they get minor criticism, they act like the person criticizing them is an idiot, and then throw out false accusations about the person being a racist or some other hateful kind of person.

I corrected them about a minor detail and they called me a racist troll and blocked me. I literally just told them that the way they were responding to people in the comment made them look bad. Had nothing to do with race.

I literally watched this guy call people "snowflakes" and tell them to find a "safe space" when they merely diagreed with something the guy asserted in a video (which wasn't even true). The criticism was fair.

This guy is suuuuch a dick and a disingenuous person. He's also a hypocrite who preaches about how people should be nice in the comment section, but all he does is act like a childish asshole.

I don't think I've ever heard the words" yeah!, this movie was super easy to put together" there all hard and have trials and tribulations when gazillions of dollars are involved.

Filming multiple takes with characters giving different emotion isn’t uncommon and many actors can handle it fine. It only tends to be an issue with “method” actors who think their character can only be one certain way. It’s not like directors are saying “this time film it with a clown nose and standing on your head”. It’s usually small emotion changes aka “be more scared of Vader in this one, okay now be more angry and defiant”.

best prequel/sequel of them all

Easily the greatest Disney star wars film. This is my favourite Star Wars film outside the original trilogy, and I say that as a fan of the prequels.

To me the sequels are not canon.

Part of why it’s good is because they didn’t make fools of any of the main characters.
Almost all the new SW movies, they make idiots of the main characters way too often. You don’t take them seriously.

When I was a kid, Darth Vader scared me.
There is nothing remotely intimidating of the bad guys in the new SW movies.

That Gilroy guy seems douchy

As a non Star Wars fan I really enjoyed Rouge One. The characters and how this really feels like a war with many intense moments.

Can we all agree Gilroy is a good writer but sucks as a person?

There was supposedly an original opening that was supposed to be some battle against the empire, and 2 rebel fighters in a trench talking.
One is talking about some "Tall all black general who uses a lazer sword, and has magical powers"
the other one of course starts calling him a moron for believing such strange rumors, and it being a "story" just to scare new recruits.
Then the one guard starts coughing, then choking, then is lifted into the air and pulled to vader as he stabs the soldier with his lightsaber, as his personal squad "Vaders Fist" crawling and moving all sneaky up to the Rebel Base or whatever.
Then some battle was supposed to open up with Vader just laying fuckin WASTE to a bunch of soldiers, or something like that.
APPARENTLY, it was "too violent" for Disney and they scraped it though, smfh. I forget where I read that exactly, I wish I could find that article again.

It's my favorite of the newer films...it wasn't perfect but it was a good time with a fantastic ending...minus cgi Leia.

Some fan boys of any films will always punch holes. As a fan, RG1 was really really good.

Tony Gilroy comes off like such an insufferable twat

I thought this was better entry than most of the others in the franchise - mostly because of a great performance by droid defector K-2SO (who was relentlessly funny and cool) and great cameos by Donnie Yen and Mads Mikkelson. It also had a terrific battle scene at the end! (not to mention a totally bad-ass appearance by Darth Vader in the very last scene).

I like the glantic battle seen at the end of the movie. An the story of Darth Vader an his managing abilities.

A lot easier to believe and praise Gilroy now after watching 10 eps of Andor lol

It's garbage

The space battle in Rogue One is IMO the best Star Wars space battle to date and THANK GOD I got IMAX 3D tickets for this movie, otherwise I probably would of been mad if I didn't!

It's called scrap booking and it's no way to make a movie. They basically shoot multiple versions of EVERY scene and random ideas. Then they can pull from 20+ hours of footage and create unlimited versions of the of "the movie". Sorta like a create your own adventure that has a setting.

This movie was actually SO much better than the "sequels" and other Disney Star Wars movies that there is no comparison. It is the only one I would watch or recommend. The main characters die for the cause, what more is there to say? It's the ONLY serious Disney Star Wars movie.

Funny how you can spot a narcissist with only a few lines from a podcast.

Rogue One is such an embarrassment of a movie. theres simultaneously too much going on and also not enough. the plot feels hurried and lagging at the same time. its an ensemble cast but no time is given to develop the character arcs of any of them.

its spectacular cinematography and technical effects (besides the godawful facial CGI of Leia and Tarkin) that somehow holds up a script that isn't worth the paper it was printed on.
